Norm Proven

Sad that Norm Proven has passed away. My condolences to all concerned. Norm coached the Eels for one year--forget which year. He did well considering the roster he took over-- many A-grade junior standard types. As I recall he just missed the finals. I was down watching them training one night and Norm was telling the team how to tackle! In those days there were generally only two in the tackle. Norm said the first one in goes low and the second in goes high ( to lock up the ball) I thought fancy a first-grade coach having to tell his players something so obvious. Such was the standard of some. By the way, three in a tackle only came the norm after Ricky Stuart introduced it the year he coached East to win the premiership. Now four in the tackle is not unusual.

  • Hope Cleary and co feel like the fuckwits that they are. One of the last things he'd have seen in his life was a bunch of fuckheads carrying his figurine around the Goldy in a baby carrier .

"See I disagree saying good chance we lose in court. All the people I've spoken too involved with law have said Lomax has non leg to stand on. Only thing that could effect us is them saying take Lomax back and we say no."

"The Melb players will definitely be paid up members and Lomax is probably still a paid up member of the RLPA. So that's why they may be interested.
Yeah, can't understand why NRL gives a toss about a guy who wanted out of a binding contract so he…"

"I've never agreed with the term "swap" being used in this saga. There is no swap. Lomax isn't an employee of ours. Not sure why the nrl want to involve themselves in this, or the players association for that matter. It's an agreement between us and…"

"Best example I can think of is if a player tears an acl then the club rips up his 4 year contract 🤣 unfortunate situations happen but you've signed the damn contract "

"It's just not the right way to do things is it. I have no idea what the final outcome of this will be, as I said before likely that Lomax pays some sort of compensation and it's done - not ideal from our perspective but that's life."

"Only difference here is that JAC was actually playing so NRL had no interest in getting him back into the game.
Not sure why they're so interested in this 1 guy who is most likely going to go to R360 if/when  it actually starts."

"Agreed Adam. Some (even most) fans might want to see the club act vindictively, but sponsors and broadcasters just don't think that way. The club is between a rock and a hard place."

ANY MORE SIGNINGS???

I've been frustrated recently about the work we have been doing in the open market. Jonah's alright for a year and JDB is solid but he's getting old. I feel we need more in the forwards and some a replacement outside back. All I have seen is links…
