Norm Proven

Sad that Norm Proven has passed away. My condolences to all concerned. Norm coached the Eels for one year--forget which year. He did well considering the roster he took over-- many A-grade junior standard types. As I recall he just missed the finals. I was down watching them training one night and Norm was telling the team how to tackle! In those days there were generally only two in the tackle. Norm said the first one in goes low and the second in goes high ( to lock up the ball) I thought fancy a first-grade coach having to tell his players something so obvious. Such was the standard of some. By the way, three in a tackle only came the norm after Ricky Stuart introduced it the year he coached East to win the premiership. Now four in the tackle is not unusual.

  • Hope Cleary and co feel like the fuckwits that they are. One of the last things he'd have seen in his life was a bunch of fuckheads carrying his figurine around the Goldy in a baby carrier .

"That was me LB. But I did say it depends on whether Williams can play on the right, as both are left side players. "

"Nah, he used to box fat and it doesn't get easier to lose as you get older...Ozempic, not that there's anything wrong with that. Every trainer always tried to pul weight off of Jnr forever, but to no avail. Now? Easy-peasy"

"I mean perhaps, but he can still play some decent minutes in NRL trial too. It's a trial so doesn't matter if he is a risk with his fitness in terms of fatigue errors."

"I think Moretti is still a WIP. Ryles will only put him in first grade if he feels Moretti has done his homework. I have no doubt he will come in soon enough though."

"Boxing Macy. I taught the daughter of Paulo's boxing coach, gave a signed shirt for Xmas for teaching last year haha.
But boxing would have fit as and works on his footwork and discipline."

"Big motor for a big bloke. It's the same with Tuivaiti, they both seem to keep coming with the ability to play big minutes. They'd both have to be 115kg plus. Not sure who the conditioning coach is but he's doing a good job on these young blokes."

Happy Monday, if anyone wants a good laugh to start their week, skip to 32:50 mark and listen to this f***wit talk. It is laughable seriously. Claiming the offer of $300k was a great deal and we can put that into our junior system. But said we can…
