Norm Proven

Sad that Norm Proven has passed away. My condolences to all concerned. Norm coached the Eels for one year--forget which year. He did well considering the roster he took over-- many A-grade junior standard types. As I recall he just missed the finals. I was down watching them training one night and Norm was telling the team how to tackle! In those days there were generally only two in the tackle. Norm said the first one in goes low and the second in goes high ( to lock up the ball) I thought fancy a first-grade coach having to tell his players something so obvious. Such was the standard of some. By the way, three in a tackle only came the norm after Ricky Stuart introduced it the year he coached East to win the premiership. Now four in the tackle is not unusual.

  • Hope Cleary and co feel like the fuckwits that they are. One of the last things he'd have seen in his life was a bunch of fuckheads carrying his figurine around the Goldy in a baby carrier .

"Did the storm adhere to the release agreement when they entered into a provisional contract with Lomax that was lodged with the nrl without our knowledge or consent? They're negotiating now because it's the only play they've got and external…"

"Exactly. Our leverage is at its greatest now. Storm and NRL want it to go away. If the trial goes ahead and we lose leverage gone. If we win but the term of the deed is reduced we lose leverage. And if we go to trial and embarrassing stuff about the…"

"Storm (and NRL) are desperate to keep this out of court, hence the last minute negotiations. I'm confident that the Eels Barrister is sitting on a goldmine of incriminating evidence that the Storm (and NRL) absolutely do not want coming out into the…"

"Nrl is a joke anyway and they have their favourites. We have already replaced Lomax money with players so anything we do get is a bonus. Let's just hurry it along and be done with it lol. Let storm go lose another grand final 🤣 3 peat "

"But if storm are trying to negotiate a swap aren't they then agreeing our contract is valid? And if it's valid and per Beach's words, there are fifteen other clubs out there to talk turkey with, or them with us? "

"The Storm should follow V'Landys request that the clubs forget about what they want and put the NRL first. So come on Storm cough up a fair player, get this deal over the line and put the NrL first. Save Lomax from leaving the NRL.

"In breaking news, Parra has knocked back the 200k and settled on 150k instead.
In all seriousness, we have a plethora of forwards and don't need anymore especially a dud like Blore.
It has to be a quality outside back or nothing."
