  • I must say I’m always intrigued by serial killers. What happened in their childhood, teenage years, friends, family, jobs etc.? Just what it is to make them who they are and perhaps some reason as to why it is they committed the crimes they have. Especially considering what they did has occurred repeatedly and is undoubtedly deliberate.

Having said that I’m pleased he has died and we aren’t paying to house and feed him anymore. How many years was he in prison? That’s quite an expensive exercise, surely capital punishment is warranted in some circumstances.

    • Agree Adam, i love true crime, especially the docos that show killers being interrogated or interviewed.

Must have watched hundreds on youtube, facinating stuff.

I think most are effected by trauma in childhood of some sort, that combined with antisocial or sociopathic traits can be a bad combo, but theres exceptions.

The occasional one is just born bad i reckon, theres reports of kids having an obsession to stab their siblings and parents when they are just past toddler age.

Its very rare but some just have bad wiring..

In Ivans case it seems to be upbringing.

    • Yep call me a sadist, but there something that intrigues myself and many about what it is that makes these people tick.

What is it that made them do what they do and how they choose to operate.

Knowing a bit about Milat, I'm sure that he killed many more than the ones found in Belangalo. Killers like him don't just start in their later years, it is an itch that starts at a far younger age.

Coincidentally, I watched a doco on Jeffrey Dahmer today before I found out Milat had died - now there was one sadistic serial killer- killed 17 and ate a few of them.

      • Interestingly, Dahmer takes full responsibility for his murders. Gacy and Bundy lie and blame others for their actions.

        • Yeah Bob, that’s exactly the thing and differentiates the true psychopaths from others. Milat took it to the grave rather than give the victims families some semblance of closure which would validate the case against himself.

Though the sad outcome for victims families are same, reckon there is a huge difference between Dahmer and the absolute pure evil of the West, Snowtown Burnie  and Milat types and  what seems to drive them to it seems not the same as Dahmer - very sad and one of the most screwed up minds ever.

      • Sadist

    • Dude if you have Netflix at home watch Mindhunter.  It's based around the start up of the FBI behavioural science unit and the changing landscape of serial murderers in the US.  Very very good and interesting TV series.

  • the family  lived in moorebank when young, the kids went to liverpool high  , most say they where all on the crazy side, i think no more on milat should be talked about, he lived far to long in my view.. and took to many lifes...

    • Robbie bro, Ivan can count himself lucky he never ran into you while he was up to no good in Belanglo forest.

No doubt you'd have hit him with one of the famous Maxwell uppercuts followed off by the Trademark Maxwell headbutt, would have put him right out of business im tipping.

Id love to have seen a Robbie vs Ivan fight, id be putting everything on you destroying him my friend.

Anybody that doesnt know, Rob has a reputation as being a tough hombre, has taken down many man twice his size with one to their chin.

"Thx ScottX, good questions. I think it bad luck that a coach in his first year (JR) has to sit through losing two of his three (and only) marquee backs: Dylbag$ and Lomax.  I'm sure JR did not count on those departures in the 2024-25 preseason. It's…"

ANY MORE SIGNINGS???

I've been frustrated recently about the work we have been doing in the open market. Jonah's alright for a year and JDB is solid but he's getting old. I feel we need more in the forwards and some a replacement outside back. All I have seen is links…
