I have a bit of a true crime addiction , and being from The Gong I've folllowed Grahame Potters hide-and-go-seek record breaking efforts for years for numerous reasons , with him being a Wollongong local and his Kim Barry horrific crime being in a unit block close to where I grew up , and also my mother once having worked with him   . Tbh I never thought they'd ever catch him.  Very very bad man off our streets.

A notorious fugitive on the run from police for 12 years over an alleged conspiracy to commit murder has been arrested in Far North Queensland.
Graham Potter, 64, was found around 8.45am today at a Ravenshoe residence, approximately two hours drive south-west of Cairns.
Potter failed to appear in a Melbourne court in February 2010, where he was due to face two counts of conspiracy to commit murder and serious drug distribution charges.

(QPS)
"He was bailed on those offences but absconded prior to being presented in court," Acting Assistant Commissioner Mick Frewen from Victoria Police's Crime Command said.
Potter had previously been described as Australia's most wanted man.
Mr Frewen described Potter as a "drug trafficker of significance" and a "violent person", previously convicted of homicide charges in NSW.
"The resolve to find Graham has not wavered," he said.

  • Love true crime wiz, love watching interrogations the most.

Good they got this guy, dangerous man

    • I love my true crime too Snake , Obviously love a good docco , but also love my podcasts . It seems a little warped , well I guess it is pretty warped , but I can't sleep without some kind of true crime podcast on my iPod earphones.  So I'll nod off to sleep listening to how Ivan Millat tourtued some poor bastard.

BTW , have you watched the Ron Iddles show on one of the FTA catch up channels ?  Shows his footage from some of his interrogations . Great insight as to how they have caught some of our infamous offenders. Can't remember which channel it was.

      • Yeah, saw the RI stuff, he's old school, tough, no bs,i like him.

I follow a lot of the Australian and world crime on a website called Webslueths, its got thousands of threads and daily updates, lots of Aussie stuff.

Its overmoderated and run by a chick who has a gang of chick mods who are constantly hovering and telling people the rules, so that sucks but its a good source to have their 'latest posts' bookmarked for info.

        Biggest true crime forum online.

Ive been following the Summer Wells case closely, what a freaking shit fight that is lol.

Reddit has a few good true crime forums too.

True crimes a huge industry these days, 8-9 out of 10 true crimers are women interestingly enough, they love the excitement and danger, and sluething, the women are pushing the whole industry.

        • Tbh , I'm kinda over the forums and Facebook groups purely because of the Nazi moderating women. Their mostly hardcore SJW fembots who will pull you up or delete you for using the wrong gender term or some shit like that. Whenever it's a female killer they'll always try to justify it with stores about how they were likley abused by a man or they killed their child because they likley had post natal or some shit. I really do try to avoid anything true crime forum or groups with female moderators . They simply can't help themselves. It's something to do with true crime that a certain type just seems to have the need to moderate and control the forums and groups haha.  They're the type you wish a serial killer would target but you know they never would.  Even their 10 cats hate their fat arses.

      • Wiz ive also been following a very interesting case, the Cassidy Raiwater case, dead set silence of the lambs stuff.

So bad most media refused to cover it, the hearings just started, google it, itrs a deep and very dark rabbit hole

        • Sounds interesting Snake - I'll definitely check this one out....

          • They were caught selling her number body parts on the dark web, ordered and numbered before she was processed.

And thats just the tip of the story.

I couldnt really go into it here

        • Will check it out Snake . Cheers

  • Interesting. Wiz like you I followed the " Kim Barry pushed  off the cliff " murder closely at the time . I recollect that that Potter claimed he did it for fear of reprisals from a bikie gang . Always claimed his innocence although was still found guilty of murder by a jury .

    • He claimed the bikies came to his unit and made him do it or the likes . Haven't listened to it in a few years . But I'm 99.9% sure it was along those lines. If it wasn't bikies it was something similar , but his claim was someone he didn't know came to the unit. It was pretty bad , he wa on his bucks and took her home , then she saw pics of his Mrs and knocked him back so he killed her and went back to the club like nothing happened.

I've been frustrated recently about the work we have been doing in the open market. Jonah's alright for a year and JDB is solid but he's getting old. I feel we need more in the forwards and some a replacement outside back. All I have seen is links…
