ZDC and French

I think we have all come to the realisation that we won't be playing finals footy yet again this season (how depressing) purely because we just aren't good enough. We are "rebuilding" and when you rebuild, it all starts with youth.If it was up to me, I'd be playing both French and ZDC in first grade for the remainder of the season for a couple of reasons.•There will be no pressure on them to perform this season. It would be purely about giving then a taste of first grade and get them ready for next season.•Bevan French SHOULD be our long term option at FB. So why not give him a run.•Hayne, GI, Lockyer, Folau etc all came into first grade as 18 years old kids. It clearly never affected their careers.•I'm not saying ZDC is our long term option at 7, but we will never no unless we actually give the kid a go. People on here often talk about looking outside for a halfback. Before searching, why not look at what we already have!•Sandow and Kelly WILL NOT be at the club next season so why play them? It's never worked with them, so why keep them in FG at the expense of keeping someone else out?Does anyone else agree or would you prefer to stick with something that clearly isn't working?

French would break into two playing at the weight he is. Give a kid a chance with a full off season and plenty of time in nsw cup to show what he has.
Zdc his position is destined to be a number 9 IMO. But would not hurt giving the young lad a go.

  He is listed at 89KG. Exact same weight as slater. Moylan, Tedesco, Wighton all play around 91-93KG. He is a teenager. Weight will come.

The only problem I have with French coming in is the fact I don't want the poor attitude of our 1st graders rubbing off on our youth. Our players don't look like they want to play for our club, barring of course a few. If we were to continue to bring in our talent and have them around weak hearted players they will in turn become the same. Unless of course french has the mental strength and work ethic on the field to be his own man.

I really do wish he was playing first grade though. We need him.

I like the look for both French and ZDC. I'm pretty sure the coaching team know what they are doing. I'm pretty sure they hate losing too. Putting a young bloke in before he's ready isn't a good choice. I'm sure as soon as they're ready they'll step up.

French is 12 months away. He only played his first game of open age football this week. His body isn't ready for first grade.
