Your preferred 21

Last Saturday saw almost all of Parramatta's squad play at least one first grade game, giving us a better indication of the strengths of our squad.

For mine, Takairangi has shown he is best suited to a bench role where he can provide 20-30 minutes of impact. Jai Field is a solid player who could provide spark off the bench. George Jennings should be as far from first grade as possible. While Andrew Davey has put himself forward as a reliable bench player.

Without further ado, here is my desired 21 man squad with everyone fit and available

1. Gutherson

2. Sivo

3. Jennings

4. Blake

5. Ferguson

6. Brown

7. Moses

8. RCG

9. Mahoney

10. Paulo

11. Lane

12. Matterson

13. Brown

14. Evans

15. Kaufusi

16. Niukore

17. Davey

18. Stone

19. Takairangi

20. Field

21. Utoikamanu

Now the bench is the real conundrum here given how many options you want to carry. My bench is very middle centric as I believe we've dropped too much intensity when our starting middles are off.

Taka could very easily take Davey's place due to his versatility while Stone was effective before his injury.

  • It seems I accidentally deleted my reply. I couldn't be bothered typing it all again. I'll just say Stone in for Davey. Coverage for hooker.

  • I suppose you would be relying on Matterson to cover for the backline with that 1-17. It would mean shuffling a few players which is not ideal. I think that's why Taka gets his spot. For mine, it's probably Davey who slips out in that instance. With injuries however you rarely get to play your top 1-17.

  • I agree with 1-16. 17 for me could be wither Stone, Taka or Davey. Taka probably gets the nod because he can cover the backs.

  • We have good depth but stone can cover Mahoney so id include him. Davey needs to prove his worth but I'd have him over Taka atm.

    Nikure

    Kaufusi

    Davey

    Stone

  • Gennings isn’t great, but it’s a bit rough to judge any player who isn’t playing regularly this season. He can play at this level and is a capable backup.

  • I expect to cop flack for this, but I would still have Peni in the 21 or possibly even in the 17, definitely ahead of Stefano.

    • What's the problem with Terepo? is he injured or offside with the coach?

      • Terepo is actually Toutai with a different haircut to confuse us.

That said he hits hard both in attack and defence.

      • Don't know, the Injury Report just says 'Peni Terepo - indefinite' with no cause

  • Davey has played one game and you'd have him ahead of stone lol.
