Your Pick for Head of Football

Interested to hear people’s thoughts on who should be head of football and what makes a good head of football. Graham Hughes’ name being thrown about, I’d personally hope we pickup someone like Brian Smith with a proven background in running football teams. Throw the bank at him, this club is out of ideas.

  • Frank Ponissi - Storm

    Matt Cameron - Penrith

    • I'd take either in a heartbeat.

  • Absolutely Brian Smith.. Whose first call of business would be to kick Bush coach to the curb. But of course.. BA would scream the place down if someone competent was employed because he would know what's coming....
    • Nail hit on head.

  • Fathead why would he scream the place down he asked for help and was denied it...that’s no secret.
  • Quite simply because any well credentialed GM of football would clearly see that he has NFI. It's human nature to employ those that don't show you up, so he will go along with the review and excitedly endorse a GM of Football as long as that GM of football is less knowledgeable than him ( which is a freaking low bar I admit) .
Why would he endorse a GM of football who would see the obvious? and risk a million dollar job??

      • You telling me that BA won't be consulted in relation to the appointment of a GM of Football????

One would assume that a professional organisation would try and ensure that the head coach and the GM of Football would at least be on the same side,  with the same plan  etc etc

Even the Eels wouldn't appoint soneone who BA can't work with....or maybe they will - nothing would surprise me.

As for the salary BA is being paid.  A million,  half a million - dont care. Whatever it is he's being overpaid.

      • If BA turns into it around next year and becomes a super coach after being given all possible assistance then myself and every pessimist currently bagging bushie  will gladly admit that we were wrong.

As long as all you freaking unicorns agree to acknowledge that we were right when the inevitable occurs and the team runs around like the three stooges.

All we are after is some freaking accountability.

  • Matt Cameron would also be a great pick but I doubt Gus would lose him... Gus the old fix wouldn't lose someone he wanted.
  • I said Matty Cameron a few months go, Ponissi from the Storm or Parr from the Cows would be good as well.

Brian Smith would be my number 1 choice, he's an expert on overhauling clubs, and this place needs a total overhaul.
