We all remember Sticky's now famous session to rid the club of under-performing players. He was pretty much accurate in his assessment since all the players moved on did feck all elsewhere.

Question now is, who do we need to cull to make a fresh start and build a new team.

I'm also assuming BA will stay on because if we were to sack him now, it would cost the club 3 mil.

  • We got 15 players of contract i only resign 5 of them and hayne not 1 of them he not

  • Dane Aukafolau, Kirisome Auva'a, Nathan Davis, David Gower, Jarryd Hayne, George Jennings, Cameron King, Suaia Matagi, Jack Morris, Marata Niukore, Kaysa Pritchard, Beau Scott, Ray Stone, Peni Terepo, Siosaia Vave, Tony Williams

    Are all off contract.

From that list, I'd only hold onto: Gower, Jennings, Terepo, Pritchard. Don't know much about the youngsters Aukafolau, Morris, Niukore and Stone to decide. Fom the 4 that I mentioned, only Gennings would be a starter. The rest back up for injuries. I'd also look to move Norman and Edwards on. Hayne is busted and anything more than 300K would be too much for the sicknote he is.

  • Regardless of contracts id be getting rid of vave, matagi, scott, auvaa, hayne, french, mannah, norman (allnot good enough), edwards (discipline), williams (cant keep them all), morris and cam king (surplus to requirements) moeroa (has regressed), terepo (played 5 years and hasnt improved his ball control one bit)

Id re-sign george jennings, gower, pritchard, aukafolau, stone and niukore

Id promote mahoney and GL, look to bring in another prop or two (whether they are from our juniors or not) and a big winger who can make similar metres to George Jennings per game
  • The fact that Parramatta are in dire need of a huge clean out, absolutely proves Brad Arthur totally stuffed up and has no idea what's happening.

The only reason a club should need a clean out is if the previous coach failed in recruitment and retention so badly that the next coach in had no other choice.

Have a look at Parramatta's  forward pack and see how many are of NRL starting started. I'd say Brown would be the only forward who could force his way into the Dragons, Penrith or any top pack.

This should never have happened. Not in a coach's fifth year.

Now i don't know what's happening behind the scenes, but Gurr should be scrambling to hire a Brian Smith type football manager,  to take over everything & let Arthur just make sure the boys are turning up to training.

    It couldn't be more obvious.

    • So just to answer your question - there's no quick fix. We're looking at at least the next 2 years in the bottom four in my opinion.

There's no chance that we'll be buying 3 - 4 very good forwards in one off season. It should have happened progressively over Arthur's tenure through recruitment & development.

      • The tigers have proved what a couple of good signings can do though. I haven't lost all hope for next year yet, but we need to see some decent signings soon.

      • The dragons have the lowest tpa amount in the comp if you didn't know Corey.  It's more to do with cap management mate.

    • Smith has had his go imo. If they look to someone for footy there would be current operators out there who could help.

The pack was mostly the same as in 2017......they were ok then; but agreed some need to be moved on.

    • We shouldn’t need to buy players. Like Penrith we need to rely on our juniors and have a backlog of players ready to go. Let’s face it in the modern society what young person on over 400k a year wants to live in western Sydney unless they have to. We can’t compete with the likes of the roosters or Souths or most clubs, third party aside, simply because we have to pay at least 100k more to convince them to play and train in parramatta. Same applies to Penrith but they fix the problem with juniors. I can’t understand why we don’t have the same conveyor belt of players they do.
    • Offloading Scott mannah and morera... and bye some quality front rowers
