Your Christmas Day traditions

I come from a pretty non traditional family and sometimes find Xmas day a bit forced and to be honest a bit false lol in comparison to the rest of the year . What are your favourite Xmas day happenings and traditions ? I need to up the ante for my kidlets , and would accept any drinking games for the adults lol . Please share :-)

  • Yeah I found Christmas to be pretty draining over the years.  We used to go to the in-laws for lunch and then go to my parents for dinner.  We used to drag the poor kids from one session to another.  I know they loved it and adrenaline for their next presents kept them going - but boy it was tiring!

Now in later years there is just us and the 2 kids (now in their 20's) and their partners for lunch.  We don't travel anymore as siblings are spread out.  Just love Xmas now.  A lot more relaxing.

    • So I am waiting another fifteen years to relax lol
  • We do the 'go to the parent's place' thing. We have a much nicer place with A/C etc but we trudge along. My mum cooks the traditional chook, turkey and pork...most of which is locally sourced or home grown and baked veg which is cooked in 'dripping'.

Instant coronary but man it tastes good! The best.

My family take along a couple of kgs of king prawns now too break it up a bit lol.

    • My mum is quite unwell so we are letting someone else handle it Xmas at the Epping club ballroom . 270 bucks later lol . But when the oldies can't travel you have to put back . Am hoping to eat a hundred bucks worth , don't like my chances :-)
  • Starve yourself from now Carlo, you'll be fine!

  • Im generally the first person in line for midnight mass, i get there at about mid day on the 24th, set up a little shade house and crack a bottle of chardonnay or a few 6 packs of west coast coolers and settle down to soak up the atmosphere.

After midnight mass im generally pretty pumped for the morning service so i camp out in the grounds of Darlinghurst church till the morning service.

    • But do you go to communion snake ? From one catholic to another I personally abstain . The bread would disintegrate lol
  • Jesus kramerica that's a big list to take to dan Murphy's
  • LOL Carlo, im only joking, i havnt been to mass since my last one at joeys.

One of my fav things to do was put the holy bread in my mouth and when i got back to my seat i'd slip it in the top pocket.

In study i sat in between a few serious religious freaks, i'd take the holy bread out during silent study and wave it around at them and do really silly things with it, one country guy actually started crying once that i was desecrating the body of christ lol.

WHAT A WIN BOYZZZWhat a win, we stuck in there the whole game after a terrible start to the game. Tuilagi was brilliant despite an early high tackle leading to a try he scored 2 tries and was a brilliant ball runner of the edge. Iongi is the spark…
