Your best salary cap rort stories

So I'm sure we've all heard stories of the creative ways that clubs circumvent the cap, so I thought we could throw a few of them up. Please don't make any actual allegations about a particular player, mind you so the site doesn't get in trouble.

So I'll start. 1) Souths player who when moving to Sydney was delivered a fridge as a gift. What was more interesting was the fact that the fridge was filled with cash not food.

  • Did he then sell the fridge at an auction advertising it "as is with cold hard cash"

  • The old one about the players having their very own key to a poker machine in the leagues club was good .

Another one I've heard first hand from a good mate and ex player who once owned a pretty good Fish shop on the side was , the club in question whilst having its own catering dept used to order lots of their catering through his Fish shop . Whilst he invoiced them for 000's and 000's he never once delivered as much as one crab stick . This player played for a club with a cable water skiing park at the time , This player has recently worked for our club .

He told me a heap of these stories , I'll post a few more when I get more time .
    • Fark Wiz, you should've told me about that Fish Shop trick before - might've never sold it....

  • Apparently brown paper bags are irrelevant to this court case...

    • Reckon she is having a chat to Kate? Sounds like she has a bit to say, plenty of motive to share it and now a willing audience.
  • Can't find the link, but a few years ago a player from a Sydney based club mentioned receiving a gift card, I wonder if that was declared under the cap and how many of those get given out.
