Young Clinton

I know whenever we lose this kid always gets Sh!t put on him but seriously again tonight another dreadful game. That bloke hasn't had one GOOD game yet, he either plays poor or very average. He dropped two balls again tonight, let in a soft try at the end and still continues to get "dominated" when he runs the ball back. Why wouldn't he come back on the inside the first time he dropped the ball he was going to get smashed over the sideline anyway. Seriously BA need to have a VERY BIG look at Clint because seriously he is not doing much to retain his spot in the side.

I know a few of you on here will say "yeah but what about this other player"  but seriously Gutherson has defiantly failed for me when it comes to what i thought he was going to bring to this team this year.

  • What can Gutherson do better than Faraimo or Morgan I say?

You are right, he is average, not terrible or bad, just average. And hopefully is not our 2nd string fullback

    • Ferimo can kick return at a 100 miles a hour , not just fall at first touch off contact
  • Taka's pass to him gave him no hope, he was literally on the line when he caught it, that's on Taka as the commentary team very well said. His 2nd error was poor and they scored off the following set. He made 160 odd metres from 17 runs. 2 errors of which 1 was not his doing at all. Wouldn't say he was that terrible? He's barely played 10 games of NRL, there were way too many big wraps on him in the pre-season, coming off a year out of the game and an NRL rookie at that. The only difference between him & Semi tonight was Semi's long range try. Semi's 2nd try was what is expected of wingers. Semi also made an error. People just want to rip Gutho apart, we always have one, it used to be Seffa, Morgan or Kelly, but young Clint is a better player than the 3 of them and gets a lot of crap for putting one foot wrong in the game when he also did a lot of good things (e.g tackle on Winterstein around the 75th min mark when he was away down the sideline, tackles him and gets the ball, we then score. Good stuff. Doesn't get a mention ANYWHERE as we want to scapegoat someone). Just frustrating that we focus so much on individuals who make ONE error. One.
    • Any smart winger would off x'd is centre
    • I m with u on this French fullback
  • If only the referees were as consistent, as you are (relative to Gurtherson).
  • Gutherson got a strip of his own

I was waiting for a replay of his drop ball - wondering if it was a strip like the others

  • Understand your frustration, i feel the same with him but dont think hes been going as bad as you are making out though, plenty of his good work can easily go unnoticed, ive got the feeling theres a good solid 1st grader in there but i recon its mental with him, in the very important moments for him i think he can almost be trying too hard, his body is real stiff under highball, he's tense, so much so he has them often bouncing off his chest, he needs to relax his body a bit more.

With his dropped passes, i think hes thinking about what hes going to do with the ball after he's got it, he often takes his eye off the ball and doesnt watch it into his hands, he watches the pass but looks up in front of him just before it gets to his hands, good players can do that all the time but i think Gutho has to concentrate on the basics atm.

I think he will come good

    • Semi 2013 same ,glad we perservered there ,this kids had about 10 games and hes a work in progress
  • Who would replace him on the wing? Faraimo?

"I did modern day as 1998 onwards as I didn't see them play, as some here haven't. Where I believe majority of people here have seen all the modern day players play.
Plus it frees up some spots like we all know who 5/8 will be but now no idea."
