You have to call it for what it is !

Our starting props , second rowers & lock have only kafausi & nukuiore for interchange & minor relief ! Makatoa really does not offer great contribution , which leaves JA . It beggars belief , big stage - finals - experienced players . JA bench spot offers inexperience option either for Moses or Mahoney to be replaced , wheh this happened the  side went backwards . You need Mahoney & Moses for full 80 minutes . If Moses suffers injury , you shift Dylan brown to 7 , if Cartwright was on the bench slots into 6 , if Moses is fine , Cartwright can play lock or second row . Nathan Brown offers way more than Makatoa . Very strange . Is BA lining up JA to be permanent 9 in 2023 when Mahoney leaves ? God help us .

    • It's not the rotation that baffles me, multiple teams in the NRL take this same strategy if they have the benefit of 80 minute players and since the wrestle was lessened a few years back the shape and fitness of forwards has changed pretty significantly to allow this.

What's baffling is poor Jake being selected as the best, most versatile spine coverage we have. We let Will Smith go for peanuts. We've watched Salmon fill in capably at the Panthers after we let him go. We have let Perham go now as well. We've put ourselves in this position where apparently the best depth we have for the halves is a teenager who isn't even lighting the world on fire in reserve grade and it has cost us several games of football this year.

I'm a massive BA supporter and I still believe right now there's no one better who is available to take on the top job, but the scrutiny on the bench is valid.

        • BA deserved the bashing if he keeps picking his son. Jake is so ineffective they may as well raffle the 17th man spot to members so you can win a game day experience.

        • It not what other clubs do that makes Brad Arthur's selections and usage valid. That's a poor excuse. It's not ' keep up with the Jones' or 'copycat' mentality that wins games and premierships. Jack Gibson always thought outside the box and implemented new original ideas. That's one of Brad Arthur's other concern is that he doesn't seem to have original ideas or think creatively. It's always 'chase the collision' 💥 1 out stuff. He's too afraid to think tactically in my opinion. He always puts players in that obviously have 'brown noses' and not players that have genuine talent and can break open games and win matches.

          • To be fair, Gibbo at Parra coached one of the greatest squads in RL history, how'd he go at Cronulla?

Parra '81-'86 would shit on any of today's NRL teams.

Having said that, BA's bench selections are pathetic and he seems incapable of mastering an effective bench rotation, imo.

    • None of the players would have been tired in Roosters Rabbits game. They got a rest every 2 minutes and spent more time watching bunker replays than actually playing.

  • I wonder whether Papali'i's impending back flip has anything to do with N Brown not playing? Is BA keeping keeping him on ice and making him unhappy so he can throw him out as trade bait?

  • I asked Anthony Seibold on sen radio the following question

Seibs , can I get your take on Brad Arthur rotation strategy effectively using a 15 man bench? Does this put added pressure on RCG and Jr Paulo at stages they looked really fatigued v the Panthers.

Seibs answered and said he wouldnt be surprised if Nathan brown and Carty are selected for Friday night game

praying BA comes to his senses
