You can't handle the truth.

The facts, not fiction, please Jarryd.

*When you suddenly quit your NFL "dream", the eels were excited about your possible return.

*When you failed in your bid to make the Rio Olympics "Fiji rugby approached me" which no doubt, was a big blow to your ego, thinking your were a walk up start, the eels were still interested in your return.

*When you arrived home and started shopping yourself around to Australian Rugby and the NSW Waratahs, the eels started to go cold on your return.

*When it appeared you had exhausted all options except playing rugby overseas, you assumed the eels would bend over backwards to sign you.

*While all this was playing out, the eels had predetermined what they would offer you if the time came, as it turns out, $800k per season. Not negotiable, take it or leave it.

*With your massive ego drawing the forgone conclusion that Foran's $1.2m would simply be allocated to you was a big mistake, one that your manager and ego didn't see coming.

*As the Hayne circus continued, BA was gauging how genuine you were about returning to the club. Your actions above indicated the almighty dollar was your motivator. $800k + additional top ups was more than enough if you were returning to the blue and gold for the right reason and as a team player this time around.

*The club owed you absolutely nothing, including paying $1.2m for your return. You, on the other hand owed the club big time after releasing you early from your last contract to pursue your dream. Did you forget that little detail along with all the promises attached?

*In a risk v reward calculation, the decision was made you were too much of a risk and not worth destabilising a team and culture that was built during your 2 year sabbatical. The club had decided that they were not going to chase you, get into a bidding war or bow to your every demand as you and your manager had anticipated and were accustomed to. You either wanted to be here or not.

*Your Titans press conference was sad to watch and highly embarrassing for yourself and damaged "brand Hayne" forever. I hope this Sunday you go to confession and give the rosary beads a workout, because nothing but lies spewed out of your mouth. I do forgive you though, because your narcissistic personality and ego is on pair with Anthony Mundine's and doesn't know any different. You actually believe your own verbal diarrhoea. Sorry, but no one else does.

So, in conclusion Jarryd, and not what your ego wants to hear, but you are at the Titans because you were not valued the same at the eels, on or off the field and viewed as toxic to the team culture and environment that has been established.

Please, no more BS about not receiving an offer etc, etc. You and Mr Beavis f%#ked up, plain and simple. The club didn't chase you and give you your kings ransom as you had banked on when the other doors closed. You have been poorly advised by your manager and inturn used by the NRL by signing with the Titans.

Don't treat us fans like fools, making up stories trying to justify your defection, don't blame BA or club instability etc. The decision was purely a monetary one. $800k v $1.2m, you took the latter. Good for you, good for your manager, but don't make excuses, own the decision you made and the consequences that come with it.

I have no doubt, you will put bums on seats, put money in the coffers and play some good footy at the Gold Coast, no one ever questioned your on field talent, but I hope it all works out, because you sold your soul and shit on 23,000+ loyal members (the best in the competition) who trusted in your sob story two years ago & now don't believe a single word that comes out of your mouth.

  • My biggest worry of him returning to parra was, was he going to be the player he once was, he trained his body for a completely different game. to pay a large sums of money to once good footballers is something we are good at. only time will tell now how he goes, as much as i wouldve liked him to be here i am glad hes not now, weve built a team and a culture thats all about a team not an individual.

  • Great post Bert, pretty spot on with how it all unfolded. I'm starting to feel sorry for Hayne as I now believe he desperately wanted to come back to the eels but between himself and his manager (if I was hayne I would sack him) they stuffed it up and with a bruised ego went off in a huff and signed with the titans.

  • Well said Bert.

  • Great post but i dont think his Christian faith does the rosary. Sure he can work something out to make himself feel better.
    • I think with Hillsong you just have to make a 10% donation and any wrong you have committed is forgiven, its that simple. Any crime, just pay the dime and you walk out with a halo on your head.

  • Huh? I thought you said Hayne not signing was the fault of the Trolls on this site? Make up your mind.
  • LOL

    • LOL classic

  • Good blog mate

    • Amen.

He said he couldn't wait and had to play but if he made Fiji rugby he would have not been playing NRL anyway.

Now rip his picture off the leagues club wall.

He doesn't deserve to be there.

"We definitely need Lomax more than we need Grieg. Plus I back BA to develop gun forwards if we need to. We already have amazing forwards coming through our Matt, SG and Flegg team."
