We have bought 4 new backs, Fogarty, Hoffman, Jennings and Auva'a. There is also a strong rumour that Hunt is also coming. Whether Hunt comes to fruition is debatable but we have strengthened the backline to perhaps ensure it is now injury proof.
The addition of 2 (or perhaps 3) good backs with NRL experience probably means that Taka's stint as a centre has finished with him moving to the bench able to become a super sub.
However my main concern is our forwards. It's no good having the best backline in the comp partnered with a pack rated as just good. Another good big prop and good hooker is what is most needed to transform the pack to very good. One able to consistently match it with the good packs in the comp. One able to fully harness the attacking abilities of the backline.
Let's not blow our cap space strengthening our backs without further bolstering the forwards!

This is an outrage!!
Glenn is Auva been approve yet by the NRL yet?
Fair call Glenn, but we dont know if they have blown the cap. Perhaps these players are signing on for less than what we expect and are used to.
Also, are there any good hookers available who you would sign for next year? If not then we can get them for '18 and use money on those who we are going to let go next year.
What we need to remember is sometimes you have to take advantage of options when they come up and the best player options dont always come up first, so you pick up what you think you need and then a good one gets offered and you have to make a decision.
Theres a good chance that after his first year the Fog might not handle Sydney and wants to go back to Qld, who knows.
Recruiting is a game of luck, good fortune and sometimes utter disaster. If we had a little inside knowledge wed probably understand why these things are happening and be less concerned. But we dont have that luxury.
Oust Arthur Oust Arthur. Burn it all down I say.
Bring back Sharp, and Spags they really knew how to run the joint.
And get Ricky Stuart as coach. he really knows what he is doing.
For forwards I don't know why everyone seems to think we need another when we have:
Tep mau Scott as our starting backrow, one of the best in the comp IMO.
Mannah and vave as starting props, providing the quick play the balls of mannah followed up. By the rampaging runs of vave which will be a quality starting pack.
Then for 3 bench positions we have brown, wicks, Alvaro, Edwards terepo, Gower, and obrien . You pick the worst 3 of those and put them on the bench and we still have An OK bench rotation.
That's before we mention players like Hasson, Nelson, woods and kelepi who are going quite well for Wenty but haven't had an opportunity in first grade.
Haven't gone Into rising jrs who may push for a first grade spot by the end of the year or start of next ( can't remember his name)
I don't think there'd be many teams with greater depth than ours IMO
Didn't we say that we had plenty of depth for 2015 & 2016. How did that work out those two years?
