Would you have chosen Loko?

Had I been picking the side I think I would have found it impossible not to have thrown Loko into the team. From the reports that were filed through, it did sound like he got caught out in defence in the trials and yes he's probably not ready but gee given the options, I don't think I could have resisted throwing him in there.

  • in a word yes

surely he is better than chris walker in the centres?????????

  • No, still a bit raw i think, and obviously Kearney and Co do too....

I know over the years there have been players chucked into 1st grade and handled it (Lockyer, Burt, Folau etc), just dont think Loko would handle the pressure, teams would single him out.

Maybe run him in the wenty team for a month or so.... Reason is

It is differant playing against men than playing against 18-19 yr olds...

  • A debut in front of 30,000 at Eden park wouldn't be too much fun for a young bloke. Morgan and Allgood will be tested big time.
  • Look what happened when we through in our last NYC gun centre - Talima Tautai.
  • No, i was at both the Tigers and Panthers trials and i have no doubt Loko will be good but he is not ready yet.

As for the other so called "strange selections" ( Allgood and Lasalo) they both impressed me greatly at the trials.

  • No I would be waiting until at least a home game where he will have majority of home support, rather than 30,000 Warriors fans gunning for his scalp!

That said though , I think he cant be too far off getting his chance.

  • From what I hear, he was caught out in defence and unable to make any inroads in attack. I think in the warriors trial the score was 8-4 or something at half time, so we were losing but def still in the mix, then when the new bloods were thrown in, including Loko, we were convincingly beaten, then in the Tigers game, we led by a big margin at halftime but failed to continue the rout after halftime, again with a bunch of the young guys thrown in.

I think he 'will' be great for the eels but, at the moment may be struggling with the size and speed of first grade players.

  • No! He had his chance in the trials.I'm sure he will get his chance but just not yet.
  • yeh dont be suprised if there a few positional changes before kickoff.
  • No he is not ready yet its a big leap from playing SG Ball a bit over 6 months ago to a debut on foreign soil maybe if the game had been at Parra he may have been considered but I don't think he will get a look in this year unless injuries hit our outside backs big time.
