Would Moses Hayne halves work ?

Been wondering about this for a while...

Seeing as Hayne has been named for halves for fiji

Would it make sense rest of season to put Hayne in with Moses.

Norman who wont be here next year would go to Fullback and put Bevan skinny legs on the wing.

Also cannot see Hayne being re signed for next season, Haynes going to take the money from the tahs to support his massive legal bills and make sure he can always dine 3 times a day at lebo run Church Street restaurants to post on Instagram.

Next year we will need to get a new Half and Fullback anyway so to win some games this season and save Brad's career (barely) why not put Hayne in with Moses.

Gutho to the centres, depending on what round Corey gets done for Coke, then shift back Guth to full back.

We got one hell of a team don't we.

  • I think so. Hayne fb
  • No!

  • Look Hayne at 6 isn't the worst but youd hope we can be better than that.
  • Better than Gutho at 6 for sure
  • Yes but to be fair so would Corey Hayne...know it’s not popular but I’m not sold on Moses he is a shithouse kick and decision maker and don’t know if he’d be one to adapt playing second fiddle. Also don’t know but from what’s been said, Haynes injury sounds like the type that just lingers...is playing in the halves likely to shorten his career do you think?

tbh without crucial injuries to the side he was as droppable as Corey earlier on and I would’ve dropped him for a spell to Wenty this year... I can’t see him as any different to Sandow but without the kick...but that’s my lone wolf opinion.

  • Gutho is absolutley wasted at 5/8. Move him back to fullback, Bevan to the wing where he should be and either Hayne or Salmon to 5/8. I love BA but am starting to doubt his mentality in putting Gutho at 5/8. Gutho was our best back last year at fullback, he's just not a 5/8th.

    • where do you put Norman then?

      • on the next plane to Brisbane!

    • How do u know Hayne is worse? Are u judging on when he was tried there years ago when he had fkn Sandow as the 7?

  • Hayne could be 5/8 as he has good passing game and still provides threat when running despite nowhere near his previous best. As others said in previous blog he reads game better then most players currently at the eels.
The thing hayne has to do is be our kicker when we struggling get out our end. He has massive boot on him and can kick further then others in the team who are kicking to opposition on full anyway. At least hayne would add extra 10 or more metres to the kick or more height making it difficult to catch meaning we can get more players up for the kick chase and solid line of defense.
