Would a Penalty Drop Kick be a good Idea?

I know most people don't like soccer but as they always have a penalty shoot out to decide big matches what do you think of maybe a penalty drop kick from say 25 metres, 30 metres, & 40 metres out to decide big games instead of a golden point?

  • After watching tonight's GF and on the back of the WSW v Brisbane game, I think penalty shootouts are a savage way to loose a match let alone a Grand Final. I know that finals have to be decided somehow but for regular round robin matches in all codes, I'm starting to favour the draw rather than a shootout.

    • What would be a better alternative in soccer Ken than a penalty shoot out especially in finals, Grand Final, & World Cup?
  • I totally agree Pops 100% . I've never been a fan of golden point either. Not a bad idea about 1 point each and then play for the extra point. But the best option like you say is a draw after the 80 minutes.
  • Why do you love golden showers but not golden points?

  • Why don't we reduce the amount of players in overtime? Maybe make it 9 per side?
  • 1 point each at full time and then you play for the extra point.
    • Good idea
  • Ye i agree with Darren 1 point each then they play for the extra point but each team play with 9 per side for a gold try or penalty not a fields goal

    ILL BE BACK
    • Golden try, once adopted it would be so successful it would stay that way.

  • It should be golden try players reduced to 9.and perhaps your 11, 12 and 13 to sit it out.
