Allow me to preface this blog by saying first time - long time and I am a huge fan of this site and love reading the different opinions of fellow die hard Parra fans
The news today about Jarryd's departure came to me this morning via text messages from friends, as my office internet was down. To be honest I thought at first it was a hoax and they were just trolling me because I am, and always have been, a huge Jarryd Hayne fan. So much so, when other supporters refer to him I correct them and make them say 'Captain' Jarryd Hayne. So the news came as a huge shock and I have been thinking about it all day.
The more I have thought about it the less bad I feel. As the saying goes "worse things happen at sea" and while I am saddened by his departure things could be worse.
Think about it, he hasn't left us to join another NRL club (say like the Bulldogs which would have seriously had me questioning the existence of God).
He hasn't gone to Union or AFL, for if he did it would be one of rugby league's greatest players of the modern era (possibly of all time) advertising rival codes and undermining our great game.
He didn't leave us high and dry in the middle of a season, (unlike SBW who slunk off in the dead of night after first sledging Mason for not sticking by his team mates).
He hasn't retired, which would be depriving us and the rugby league fraternity of one of the genuine superstars of the game.
He hasn't disgraced himself, the club or the game like so many others have (Toddy 'bubbler boy' Carney, Blake Ferguson, Russel Packer etc)
What he has done is leave to pursue his dreams and you cannot begrudge any man for trying to be the best they can be. I wish him all the best and thank him for his service to our great game.
I am certain one day Jarryd will WearTheBlue&Gold again.
Until that day, mount your unicorn and have faith that BA and the boys will be a force in 2015!!

Yeah no damage done, he's only left us high and dry with no chance of signing quality replacements for next season.
We won't be a better team without him however we are the team we are because of him, now we have a team with zero strike and $1.2 million hole we can't fill until 2016.
Hi Joseph, at least now the boys have to stand on their own merits.
LOL mate bar getting fekked in the ass by 50 sailors im really not sure what worse things could happen at sea than todays news.
Welcome to the site TWTB&G You're right we have to hold our heads up and look for any upside after what todays tossed up. Here is a chance for the club to finally get our salary cap under control and plan our recruitment and retention well in advance of 2016, at the same time stowing some coin in the piggy bank just in case Jarryd chose to return to League. We're all devastated right now but caving in to depression is not the go.
