I have been stating for a while that we need to improve our attack as we have been struggling in a big way. When we lost our 12 points we were running 12th in attack and but for our strong defence we would have not competed with the top teams. This season we have only scored more then 22 points in a game on three (3) occasions - Round 6 (36 Points vs Canberra), Round 15 (30 Points vs Rabbitohs) and Round 17 (24 Points vs Sharks, and we lost this game). Where as Wenty have scored over 22 points on ten (10) occasions this year. Additionally, we have not scored over 18 points in a game for the past 6 games.
I'm not sure what new players we have signed for next year but I just hope we have some talented attacking players as we need it bad. Considering we have lost Gordon who has kicked well for the most part we don't have a recognised goal kicker for next year at this point in time. I wonder what player would have made a big difference if he signed with us? Even when we had Peats, Jr, Foran and Norman in the team we still struggled to put teams away. Will Norman make much of a difference in attack in 2017? Would moving Jennings assist Semi with scoring more tries? Will French score more tries at fullback or wing next year?

Next year another new halves combo will make it difficult again plus at this point we lack a recognized goal kicker witch will be a problem.
If we can maintain a solid defense and then the attack will follow.
Agree, Gordons ball promotion if freaking terrible, honestly i'll be so happy to see the back of him, another nice bloke who is way past his used by date.
Gutherson was a pretty handy goal kicker in his junior days, but he will need plenty of practice to be NRL ready for 2017. Fogs is the only new signing I have heard that can goal kick and I wouldn't think he will be a top 13 NRL player come Round 1.
What did you think of French's ball play tonight? Of the 4 times he chimed into the backline from fullback his passes hit the deck twice (one over the sideline), one pass nearly got intercepted and the other pass he passed way too early before the line and crapped sideways cutting off the play.
Gordon had his weaknesses, but his kick returns were strong, he competed in the air quite well and he didn't miss many tackles. I think if Gordon played fullback tonight we would not have let some many tries in down that right edge.
French was poor but that doesn't make Gordon any better who is imo better suited to a team like the Saints or Newcastle, he's not of the standard of what id call decent
For me some our attacking stats generally come down to losing our halves and never getting a chance to get the same backline to gel.
We've had hookers who have struggled to do much either to spark any go forward.
Agree the back ends of some of our games have left a bit to be desired but once again, its not easy to hold onto leads when you are lacking the cattle.
I recon we have a few too many toilers who lack any dynamics, too many one dimensional forwards, some raging and every team needs toilers but I'm afraid it holds a lot of creativity back.
We need more ball playing creative forwards, i hate to say it but we are pretty predictable.
We need some dynamic forwards with a broader skill set than just being able to defend and plod the ball up
When you look at the above stats it makes you wonder whether not offering Hayne more money was the right decision. We desperately need more flair and points and Hayne would have fitted that void. If we lose Semi as a result of the court case we will be set back two or three years or more. Do we really need a top line half or did we need a star that can score points and win games by himself? From the above stats we appear to need Hayne more then any other player in the comp!
I do agree with what you're saying man our attack has been pretty shit all year, Parra don't seem to do any "set" plays or "moves" like the Storm or Cowboys do they can score so many different ways and look so good in attack everyone looks like a option to score yet Parra just do a shitty little backline block play which teams read so easily. BUT in saying that lets not forget Foran was only training once a week during the captains run due to his bad hammy, Norman couldn't do it all himself then he gets found with drugs so he get suspended so its not like had a fully 9-7-6-1 for the full year training everyday practicing putting on plays.
