WHAT a difference a few months make.
It was only August when the Paramatta Eels played their last match at Pirtek Stadium; the Western Sydney Wanderers walked out onto the turf for the last time during their previous A-League season.
As of this morning the stadium was rubble.
The demolition crews moved in as work began on the $300 million rebuild which is expected to be completed in 2019.
It’s certainly a far cry from the packed stadium fans were used to seeing on game day.
Check out the pictures of the demolition in action below:

Awesome to see, that shit hole cant be demolished fast enough imo
Ye that pic pretty much represents our club last year. A rabble.
I thought they were going to sell the turf?
Ah well, too many bad memories from that ground (some very good ones though). Time to move on.
Mixed feelings for mine.
I'm looking forward to the great new stadium but I always loved Parra Stadium and always thought it was one of the best grounds to watch footy at - it was easily the best suburban ground - I would only have rated Suncorp and the SFS ahead of it.
It's sad to see the old girl in this state - but the new stadium will be the pride of Parramatta :)
