words of wisdom among the BS

Bennett in his presser was arguing against the bunker pulling play back for incidents the ref missed and in general against officiating that stops the game and breaks the momentum. During this he said something along the lines of:

It is a game of attrition. It can take 4-5 sets to get the opposition to where you want them and then if the game is stopped for a bunker review the opposition recovers and you have to start from scratch.

Eels team seem to just starting to get this. For me it is a big reason we are winning more consistently

  • That's what happened to us last week. We had all the ball but ever time we had momentum the game was stopped for an injury and roosters got Thier breath back and re set Thier line

  • I admit with all the bunker interference and lack of ref's common sense I have been turning the footy off and watching something else, sad.

    • i usually watch evry NRL game in the week, but as of today i think i will be only watching parra games. much rather prefer watching UFC on sundays and spending friday and saterday Nights with family then watching this circus they call league. I really wonder what sort of spectacle we are going to get for state of origin this year?

  • Couldn't believe the Tedesco one.

Fair dink that was crap. And then exploit the head case interchange too.

    fuck the chooks

  • Wile, a reason I have been pushing for the sideline runners with flags should be involved as they used to be, if they see an incident on the field they either raised their flags to get the attention of the ref then ran on to the field to report incident, was not uncommon for both to see the same thing and run on advise ref who then made the call on penalty or send off.  In the game these days, an adjustment for the touchies would be to stop and have his flag raised, immediately the bunker would see that & advise the ref and game stopped.

The speed of the game now is taxing even the fittest players, I for one do not like the way its heading.

    • I can't agree with that Colin, the last thing we need is more people with the power to interrupt the game. Get rid of the bunker, return all the authority back to the ref, if he misses something, so be it. If he wants to consult with the touchie, that's fine. Make the touchies responsible for picking up forward passes, fine, but don't give them a blank cheque to come onto the field whenever they want.

      • I used to hate seeing the touchies come in with their flag raised and spoil the game for everyone.

        • It'd drive me nuts when they used to do that

  • I would expect the 2 B's to be in the centre of this sort of behaviour, they invent 98% of it to begin with, and then go scramblng to cover their own butts when the obvious becomes obvious..

    Nice one Uncle.

It appears to me the truth becomes surperfluous when put up against winning.

Well Unca Wayne, this is your game, fix it!.

It's all about getting the edvantage and holding onto it.

    New whinge and win policy?

  • For starters , get some farking technology into the game . GPS on the ball , GPS on the markers , get some engineers to work out how fast you need to run to throw a ball backwards and be allowed to catch it 10 meters in front of the bloke passing the ball under the " propelled " rubbish cop out , and get rid of all these boneheads that are influencing the game how they perceive it should end .

our game is way too corruptible and it's naive to believe it hasn't been corrupted by officials in the past and won't be in the future .
