  I believe his contract ended this year anyway, and since we did not re-sign him, that money has already been spent

  Doubt it. He wasn't signed for 2016 and didn't look likely to be signed so my guess is they already used the 500k elsewhere.

  Considering a contract was on the table until very recently, one would have to assume that some of the money is still around.

  You mean the 1/2 a million portion of Keiran Forans' 1.2 mil contract.

  The appropriate question might be......Where are we going to get the other $600,000 to top up Foran's contract now that Sandow is finally gone. ;)

  I think we have heaps of money in the bank, then Foran rumours where around when Hayne was at parra, the cap has gone up over the years and parra have finally sorted their cap out to. I think there is money but I think it will b spent next year on a player they will target
  
  U look at sandow that's 550 a season freed up that's gone
  Lussick was 450 and he was pretty much a straight swap for Scott who will be on 500, Foran was 1.2 and that is a Haynes money. They have resigned a lot of players like Morgan , hoppa, terpo who have all taken pay cuts and it's not like Michael Gordon would be on much next year. So personally, I could be wrong but I think we have a lot of money to spend for next season.

  Also depends on if we have made a deal with the NRL to play under a reduced cap next year in return for not getting 4 points deducted from us.

  With the 500K they have signed, maybe they can pay  the NRL fine.
