Its a yes for me, both teams are 2 out of 5, i always like our chances against the warriors, having said that id take my tip with a grain of salt as ive tipped us every game so far.

Steve Kearney and Foran versus Brad Arthur!, could two discarded ex eels, one a player and the other a coach steer the warriors to victory at Mt Smart on sunday?

Eels 28

Warriors 22

  • It's gonna be great two see the two best coaches going head to head for the first time.
I reckon we can get them if things go our way however Foran played well today and if he stays fit and puts in another performance like that we're no chance over there.
Warriors 32 Parra 28 high scoring match.
    • Bwahaha, i predict this place will riot if SK gets a win over BA LOL, that would be two ex coaches getting the biscuits over us in the one season lol

  • Gotta be honest with you Ken, im not confident at all but im used to Brads teams always bouncing back after a few losses, we are due a win.

Fog and Nelson not up to it mate, especially fog, hes just nowhere near nrl level imo

  • Foran will kill our weak defence he was very good just what we are missing.
    Warriors 26
    Eels 10
  • Hahaha that photo of the super coach has me rolling on the floor laughing mate.
How the hell the Kent is still a coach is beyond me.
He couldn't coach a turd out of a dogs arse and yet here is coaching the Warriors.
    Hahaha too funny.
    • bwahahahaha SK's a funny kent, the moose in the headlights.

    • That's a good one snake, "moose in the headlights".
  • I'm in the states and I can only go off the comments in regards to Saturday nights game and the first three rounds. It seems our forward pack has gone from trying to run through the defensive line to running at it. That's a mindset issue and one the coaching staff need to rectify quickly. Whether that's by berating some forwards in front of their peers telling them their soft or a quiet word or maybe fix off field issues . It depends on the particular player. The coaching staff should know how to get the players to respond by now and what will work. You fix the go forward, you win the ruck, you make less tackles, get more penalties and give your halves more time. Focus on the forwards effort and the backs can put on a score. Our bench is a worry till Edwards is back but we need Terepos leg speed.
    • " our pack has gone from trying to run through the defensive line to running at it" like that comment Bup. Very true.
So in short not doing the James Tamou for most of his blues games :) used to drive me nuts a big bloke like that running to the line instead of aiming past it.
It's definitely what they need to focus on, think it's mostly a confidence thing actually. Vave knows the drill well, judging by his runs that last game. Lots to like about his runs.
Hopefully the boys will take a little confidence from that second half and build from there. Think it showed with them it's a mindset thing in that game. Like two different teams both halves.

Funny used to always tell my son when running races to focus past the tape and run at speed past it...it actually works for that too :)
    • Agree - you can definitely see the difference between the first 2 weeks and the last 3. The momentum and roll on generated was significant in round 1 and 2. As you say - everything comes off the back of that - defence cannot recover and you either roll right downfield and can attack with time a plenty or you draw a penalty due to defenders not keeping up... with then the same result.

Barnett would start. Paulo on the bench and JDB retired or more of a squad filler. Either way is fine…"
