I think with the Government deciding that Omicron needs to run its course through the community, that it might be just too hard to keep the NRL competition running.

Also, it will be reliant on brain dead players to follow strict Covid restrictions, which they are already complaining about.

"But it's just a barbie"

"I just wanted a coffee"

The Broncos have four tested positive and many others will no doubt have been in contact with them.

It's going to be a rough year for the NRL if the bubble isn't fool proof or there aren't allowances made.

  • I have been thinking the same, it's not as easy as rescheduling cricket matches like the Big Bash is doing.

It will be the trickiest season yet.

  • The Government want Covid to run it's course because there is no stopping it so why are the NRL trying to beat it. The players should be pissed off because it is a no win situation. I have tried multiple times to get teated by lining up hours befroe the test centres open as I did again this morning only to be told it was now closed so go find somwhere else. It opened at 8am and cloed at 9:45am showing just how serious the Government think it really is. If you feel sick then stay home but it you feel alright just get on with whatever it is you do even if you play in the NRL because this virus isn't going away.

Up until and including the Delta strain I didn't know anyone with Covid, Now almost everyone I know has it and none of them feel that bad. In fact the only reason they know is because the home test kit showed positive.

    • People are queuing up the night before in Queensland and waiting 9.5 hours the following day to get tested.  Absolute rabble!

    • It's not just about the players who get it. If they play when infectious then they risk passing it to opposition players, coaches, officials. It's more infectious than the flu, more deadly too. Young people are likely to be fine, but it's more about those involved in the game over 50 which includes chunks of the media and most of the head coaches.

      • It's more infectious yes and it's new so there is no herd immunity but the new strain is not proving to be very much more if at all more deadly than influenza . Now I'm talking about the new strain not the original or Delta varients.
