Will the Coach keep Blake on Wing when Sivo Returns?

As the title reads. Will the coach keep Waqa Blake on the wing when Sivo returns from injury? In my personal opinion he would silly, dumb, utterly lost it, pathetic if he doesn't. It's crazy how it took an injury to Sivo to realise that Blake's best position is on the wing.

  • Blake and Sivo wingers

Simonson goneski. Not up to scratch.

    • As bad as Simmonson is at times, I actually think he is slowly getting better and is probably a fairly decent winger. Sivo, for me is a rocks and diamonds type player. I'd rather Blake and Russell or Blake and Simmonson

      • Monto, seriously...Sivo was scoring at least one try a game when in form. Simonsson looks like Mr Bean trying to find his way to the tryline.

He also can't catch a bomb and is often caught out in defence.

I was really looking forward to Simonsson joining us - but, up to this point, he would not keep his spot over a fit Dunster or Russell, let alone a fit Sivo!

        • Exactly.

I don't know why people were expecting Simonsson to be some kind of star.

He was bog average at Canberra and is bog average at Parramatta.

Dunster, Russell and Sivo are well ahead of him.

        • BM, agree; Simonsson's been disappointing. Not writing him off, yet, and we all want him to succeed (God knows we need a good right-winger) but he's looking like a fish out of water. Even Mr Bean looks more comfortable in his own skin.

Arthur et all obviously saw something in him to sign him on a three-year contract, and he's young. I'll need to double-check, but I believe it's his 50th NRL game this week.

Maybe, he's lacking confidence, doesn't feel settled in yet or worse (gulp)? Don't know. Only time will tell, but something isn't quite right, hitherto.

        • Sivo may have been great in 2020 but last year he was average and the amount of tries he's scored has been nullified by his poor reads in defence and his slowness in my opinion

  • We still need another centre. Opacic an ok backup, and does his best, though the Penis & Blake our best centres.

Having Sivo & Russell on the wings, with Penis & Blake in centres still probably our strongest combination, though Waqa playing so well on the wing maybe Opacic stays for now & Simmonson dropped.

I think BA and the coaches have seen Waqa as a winger for some time, hence trying to buy Staggs last year & letting Fergo go. Might also be why Eels looking at Marsters.

    • Blake is much better on the wing

      • Maybe, but what a lot are forgetting is Blake was one of our best the end of last year also, at centre.

I agree he makes a great winger, but we need a viable replacement. Personally don't think Opacic is quite it.

        • He had a great game today 5-6 tackle busts whilst he was also solid in defence.
