Will Beau Scott play another game for us?

We were carrying dead weight with Scott in the team. I've been critical of Mannah also but the bench role seems to suit old Timmy so I will wait and see if he can keep up the good work.

Scott on the other hand has offered very limited minutes and basically nothing in attack for us. With Tep coming back next week it will be hard to fit him into the team. I think Guthos Captaincy promotion spells the end for Beau Scott. Thoughts?

  • He shouldn't come back but he probably will at some point. Overall he's been a good signing but he's served his purpose. It's time to move on under Gutho's leadership.

  • He will be named in the 21 each week and is capable of slotting in if needed last minute its up to beau what happens from here on i don't think he has another year in him
  • Another Gower will be used sparingly
  • He will some time through the year I think I hope he retire at the end of the year along with Mannah

  • Yea but we still need to buy quality front rowers to replace them with i hope we spend up big
  • I think he will at some point, but I think his days as a starter are over. I don't mind him off the bench and I think he adds leadership to our pack, as well as our defence. But, I think there are better players in front of him, and like many players his age, he doesn't offer much in attack. I do think he's been a good signing, and has certainly added proper experience to our pack over the last 3 or so years he's been here.

  • No, not likely unless a heap of injuries occur.  I'd pick Brown, Moeroa, Evans, Vave and Niukore in front of him who are all not in the current top 17.

I'd like to see Scott captain Wenty for the remainder of the season and give back to the younger guys.  But I think he would be kicking stones if this occur.

  • I think if Beau is still good enough to play but he should remain at the Eels from a coaching capacity. We basically havent got anyone in the staff that has played origin, pulled on a Kangaroos jersey and played at the highest of levels.

He's no nonesense and he'll surely rip into anyone cutting corners.

He's an assett to the club and should be treated as one.

  • My first thought when Gutho was named co-capt (other than that it was a bloody good move) was that it was a message from BA to Scott, and to a lesser extent Mannah, that both players were going to be much less of a feature week to week. Scott seemed to come very close to retiring last season and I reckon he'd be realistic about his place in the pecking order. I'd be in no hurry to move him on however. He's a pretty handy leader in the backrow should some injuries mount and could still come in handy.
  • His use by date is fast approaching. He would be a handy back up when we need one though
