  • No. Precisely because of our small population.
  • when the eels start firing , we will be a fire power...

    • When POH gets overs his injuries Australia will be a super power.

  • lol...whats the latest on POH

    • Had an op during the week, not sure how long he is out for.

Come on POH get well son Aus is depending on you!!!

  • Why would you want to become a super power.

We might not be a super power but there aren't many other countries that have a better standard of living.

Canada and Norway are always pretty high, but they are cold.

  • I agree, and I think the way  to do that is to be more self sustainable.

We need to start having more agriculture and sustainable farming practices.

Invest  in new and growing industries.

Not just become the worlds mineral hole to be plundered.

  • I agree with your last sentence, but in order to survive its important to be a superpower and in control of your own destiny. England in the middle ages and the US since the second world war have shown us this and even though you could consider these two war mongers they really have stood the test of time.

And if countries to the north of Australia are going to be a threat then we have no choice. We are currently spending big on weapons which there has to be a reason.

I don't agree with this small population being an issue. England only has 60 million.
  • Agreed, the yanks have abused their power for so long and its coming back to bite them in the as$ now.

  • your smack on the mark! We are a floating island if Indonesia wanted to take over us or china they could easily!

I reckon if Semi, Haynes or Sivo had persisted in the NRL we might be talking about them breaking the NRL try scoring record. I think Semi and Hayne were close to 1 try per game average over 100 games? Thoughts?
