Reed Mahoney has played exactly 2 games in the NRL and in both games he has been put on report and I’ve looked at both penalties reflecting the reports by the referees and I cannot agree with either. Last night against South Sydney it was a supposed ‘crusher tackle’ yet from my perspective it wasn’t that bad at all and neither was Reed Mahoney’s Charge last week for a dangerous tackle. The NRL are making the game of Rugby League more like ‘touch Park footy’ every week. I thought Mahoney played very well in both of his NRL games and looks the goods.

On the subject of Mahoney. If I were Eels coach, I’d be contacting Ennis to see if he could play a consultancy role giving Reed some one on one coaching kind of like the Johns’ brothers have done over the years.
Took the early plea, if he fought it was looking at 3 weeks.
He needs to go back to reserve grade for a few games to work on his service from dummy half, throws more forward passes than any hooker ever in the history of the game. He could have been pulled up on at least 7 or 8 occasions against the rabbits.
