Why is Flanagan in the Fox Commentary Box?

Just wondering why Flanagan appears to be a regular commentator on the Fox League commentary box considering his known peptide past with the Sharks? I'm actually surprised he's actually allowed back into the coaching arena let alone be a regular commentator on a major sports network. I mean how many people in other professions who after committing a known illegal act are allowed anywhere near their trade or profession. I'm not against people having 2nd chances but I'm somewhat surprised.

        • I tend to agree in the sense that if a person working in the vast majority of professions was found doing things illegal as the same degree or extent as Flanagan did then they would never be allowed to step foot in their chosen profession 9 times out of 10. So I definitely agree with what your saying brissyeel.

  • I hope he gets the head coaching job at our club

      • I seriously cannot see Flanagan getting a coaching job at the Eels. I reckon Geoff Toovey would have more chance than Flanagan.

        • Flanagan would have to stand in line behind Ricky Stuart, and we know the chances of Ricky getting another gig at Parra.

          • whys that?

            • I reckon Flanno is biding his time and is likely ba's successor.  He coached reserves here for many years under B Smith, played for the eels top grade,  all arrows point to the eels folks

        • i think youll be suprised monts, i think hes a very good chance

                  • Flanno spilt blood for the club, for mine he's the favorite successor9029135471?profile=RESIZE_930x

                    • And this is my point Brizzy .  Logic says he's not a great coach .  He went to extreme lengths to cheat to get success .

Take out years where cheating was in play and what are we left with in his NRL coaching career ? A bum coach really .  Even with the financial ability to poach every off contract star he wanted for years he won a single premiership .  Same strike rate as Mick Hagan and Ricky Stuart .

For those who think BA is useless , He's virtually Brad Arthur if BA rorted the cap and drugged his players .

im all for another coach if it's a proven improvemt, but right now it seems we want to return to the days where our head coach job advert goes ,

                      " position vacant "

criteria - your name must be anyone but Brian Smith .

"Twiddle turns 22 this year. Can play fullback and even 5/8. So his future at the club is blocked. So he would have to go England or another NRL team for a crack IMO.
I would like to see him developed into a utlity player that can cover fullback,…"
