Why I'm supporting the Storm

Parramatta’s run into the finals has been nothing short of phenomenal. They have been more than convincing in their victories against the top teams, silencing the non believers one by one, the skeptics, the haters including myself who laughed in the faces of those supporters who dared to dream they would make it into the finals, let alone be one game away from taking away the premiership.Despite my admiration for this incredible feat, I will be praying that Parramatta lose on Sunday, not because I support the Storm, but because I’m a Bulldogs fanatic. It’s not that I thought we deserved to win last week, we didn’t, but I just can’t bear the thought of Parramatta having one over us when we have spent over two decades putting you all in your place. Just the thought of Eels’ fans celebrating a premiership win turns my stomach, as if being amongst you all on Friday night wasn’t painful enough. There is so much on the line for us Bulldogs supporters, if you win. It mean we can no longer taunt you for not having won a premiership since the 80s, we can no longer use that infamous 1998 semi final to shut you up, dear God it means we can’t even align you with the dragons as a team of chokers! If you win the most important game on Sunday, you will for the first time in a long time, have the upper hand in the Bulldogs/Eels rivalry, and the right to silence us. I suspect it won’t be as much fun being on the receiving end.The best sporting moments are ones highlighted by long standing rivalries, which is why a record crowd turned up to watch the Bulldogs v Eels game last week. Talk of the 1998 semi final would’ve touched the lips of every fan on both teams, as memories of both adulation and devastation would’ve come flooding back; the bulldogs were keen for a repeat and the Eels wanted payback.I’d hate to see Parra get flogged on Sunday. I’d rather you lose by a one point field goal right on the full time siren that will leave you feeling empty, devastated, and desperately hungry for a premiership win that has eluded you for decades. I hope a Storm win will put you back in your place where you all belong, quite frankly the bandwagon Eels’ supporters are getting on my nerves. But if the Eels do win on Sunday, I am silenced until we match you with another premiership of our own. If you lose, you will still be the team that hasn’t won a grand final since the 80s. And so the rivalry continues…

  • I should note that Tamara is one of those Doggies fans I was referring to in my blog post yesterday
    Who are non-Eel mates supporting?
I've got to say, I'm somewhat surprised that a few of the Dogs fans I know are supporting the Storm in the Grand Final. Is it just me, or would you…
  • Well I'm so glad you felt the need to become a member and let us know your thoughts. Like all Dog's fans, we dont really care what you think and the fact that we have now won 6 of our last 7 games against you guys proves to me, and all Parra fans, that the tide has definitely turned and your team can now do their best to try and keep up with the Blue and Gold juggernaut. The fact you became a 1eyed member and posted this proves to me you are still hurting from last Friday night. lol! Suck it princess!!! muhahahaha How sweet it is!! ;)
  • Fair enough Tamara. My sentiments were much the same in 2004.
  • were you playing the violin when posting this dribble
  • haha the fact is ur hurting bad from friday and we are more then happy to be in the gf from where we come from. win or lose im proud as hell in ur face dogs
  • Whether we win or lose , and whether you like to hear it or not.....we do have one over you ..you already will never be able to taunt us about that 1998 final because as you might remember (or might want to forget) , the following week your team got pulverised by the broncos in what was thena record grand final margin....
You just have to face it that we are better than you and we have the wood over you and frida night's game just proves that.....
You can support the storm if you like but that really isn't going to help you recover from being ELIMINATED by the EELS.....
  • by the way if thats you in ur picture ur pritty cute its a shame ur not gonna be supporting the eels haha
  • Oh Tam we have knocked the puppies out of the finals at least the last two times we have played you so do the doggies really have anything over the eels at the moment??????

I also will be supporting the tigers against the bulls its just the way it is i suppose between dogs and eels fans hahaha,
  • Yeah you get 10 points for the Pic and Minus 10 for the story sweetheart!!! equalling 0
  • So my take-out from this Tam is if we win the grand final, you will finally concede that the Eels have it all over the Bulldogs?
