I was hoping that we start this year not the best look scrappy and not shoot out of the gates so early. In seasons past we be 5-0 1st on ladder and slowly fade out. I know this team can beat anyone when we are on and I think that starting off below our best and getting better as the year goes on has us playing our best when it matters most.

The best thing about yesterday was that hopefully it taught BA a valuable lesson on who should be carried on the bench, and who shouldn't be. Mistakes are fine to make but you need to learn quickly when making them. BA's putting himself in a difficult position with Jake, so I really hope the support staff are there to give him some honest feedback about it.
In the grand scheme of the season, that was an insignificant game, and to be honest, we played like crap and only got beaten by a try and a kick on the buzzer.
Some reactions I've seen so far from members on the site have been over the top for Round 2, and suggests they might need to manage their emotions a little better and may have been caught reading all the hype from the pre season media.

Nico hynes has played 40 games , Moylan is about as old as their coach and has played about the same amount of NRL games as Fitzy has in the last few years , they have a Hooker I hadn't even heard of until yesterday and yet we have the apparent 2nd or 3rd best in the comp ... our fullbacks apparently a superstar of the game compared to their no name nuffy and then let's not forget Aiden Tolman who I think played against Craig Fitzgibbons dad ,Alan hes that old who more than matched it with our big names.
Right across the park on paper going by those on here we are a David vs Goliath story against them , and yet here we are discussing how if BA hadn't put his son on the bench we may have scraped in the win.
What I want to know is , why didn't our big superstars have it well wrapped up long before that ? The coach can't play for these professional athletes once they're on the paddock , there needs to be some onus on the clowns.

Why did BA start Orgeon Dickfingers over NBrown, who was our best player?
Why carry JA on the bench over Carty???
Why is Papalii on an edge when his defense clearly sucks?
Why does he play long minutes with his forwards without adequate bench replacements?
ALL OF IT comes back to BA.
Gutherson has started the season shit - and should be scrutinised. But there is a man above him who picks the team and the tactics, who also deserves scutiny.
My word BA deserves scrutiny and will rightly get it on here and no doubt on the NRL shows this week , as does any coach. I'd bet my house on it his JA selection will be picked apart on tv .
But tell me the last time we saw any real scrutiny on here of any of our top players leadership and performances since JA came along ( or even long before that really ).
we have some very senior players on that paddock with loads and loads of gametine under their belts, and yet they can't get that teams rudder straightened out yesterday to put the sword to one of the comps least experienced teams. What the fuck does Paulo offer as a leader ? Seriously. This is one of the areas I really hold BA to account for. Why has he not fixed this leadership issue .
I think you have your bias glasses on mate. Gutherson regularly gets bashed on here. Paulo maybe not so much yet, although he will soon if he doesn't lift his game.
Mate the only person that really highlights Guthersons flaws are me. After every loss or near loss all we ever seem to pick apart is the kids inclusion. Paulos game time I don't really have issue with , I'm just asking what the fuck does he offer as a captain?
BA shoud've manned up and made Moses the sole captain. He's passionate and you can tell he's a competitor who hates losing. And he signed his contract committinung to Parramatta without any fuss or drama.
