  • As much as I love Hayne and the Eels, I'm not in favour of picking players purely on short-term form. I'm much more like the QLD selectors, who prefer picking plays on known skill and past performances, rather than the NSW selectors who pick fad players that have played well over the past 6 weeks.

    I'm not saying Hayne is a fad player, but I think he needs at least one more good season under his belt before he challenges Slater for what has become his own Australian fullback position.

    Keep this on the low, but I actually rate Stewart as a better player overall than Slater, but Stewart never got his consistency right... and the off-field incidents didn't help.
