Looking at our performance the last 4 weeks we are a long way behind most other teams in attack. The Gutho experiment at 5/8 was average at best. Gutho is a great player and went well at fullback yesterday but hes not a top class 5/8. The solution this week was to put Takka at 5/8 again and his lack of class in this position really showed. Surely it would have been better to give one of our lower grade 5/8 or halves a go. They cant be that bad. At least they play in the halves every week and would have to be an improvement on Takka at 5/8. Whats the point of even having lower grade halves if we dont promote them when we have key injuries. Surely Darcy or the Fog would be an improvement.
Lets hope that Moses actually comes in the next few weeks and can relieve the pressure off Corey Norman otherwise its going to be a long heartbreaking season again

Dargan is a talent, but introducing him now would hinder his development, he is a couple years away from being ready.
I watched Wenty on the weekend. Fogarty played the full game at right half. Smith played off the bench and only played 30 minutes. Fogarty was one of our better players. Fogarty is better then Dargan at this point in time. Smith is a good back up player but is not fit enough to play first grade.
Gutherson was selected at 5/8 because he is the strongest all round 5/8 currently at the club. Due to French's recent injury Gutherson moved to a ball playing fullback role because he was the next best fullback at the club. At fullback Gutherson became an extra half on both sides of the field.
At this point in time Fogarty and Dargan are not as good as Gutherson in the halves and Smith is not fit enough to play first grade at this time due to only just returning from injury. Therefore, Takarangi ends up at 5/8 by default, at least in defence and Gutherson plays as a third half.
