Why Bellamy is a genius

It goes without saying that he is one of the best coaches of all time. What he has achieved is oneof the best feats in the modern game. But potentially he greatest achievement of all is powerbroking a potential move to the BroncosHe has the foresight to see a decline in the performance at the storm which could impact his legacy. So with no Cronk and perhaps soon no Smith and Slater, it's the perfect time to move. Also the biggest gap in his impressive resume is that he has only won a premiership with one club.So huge money, short term protection of his legacy and a fresh start could be the best move for Bellamy or it could produce a never before seen flaw.I can't wait and see what happens...

  • Good coach, was the shiitest player. Go figure!
    • Maybe that's what's wrong with Sticky, great player.. shithouse coach

  • The most successfull coaches, especially in world soccer, were average or below aberage players.

some of the biggest coaching flops have been former great players

  • The same man that single handedly destroyed the way the game was played and the spirit of the game.

Rhe architect that brought in the wrestling and choking which eventually saw one of his players ruin a players life by not being able to walk again.

I’m not saying he’s a shit coach, but fuck what he did to the game for his success.

    • Agreed. Bellamy wrecked it.
    • Could not agree more; we go back to the 2006 era and it started there; and Smith being outed quite rightly from the 2008 GF for his grapple.....smart coach no doubt about that but the tackling etc stuffed the game; and the bigger issue was the NRL not doing much about it imo.

  • How many premierships has he actually won? 2? all the rest were stripped for cheating.

Melbourne are only successful because of the referees and the NRL, not Bellamy.

He won how many Origins? funny how when he is on the other side of the referees he can win shlt huh?

  • Bellamy’s success was built on cheating the cap . If he didn’t cheat he wouldn’t have been able to have the spine he’s had in that team assembled . The fact he didn’t have to lose one of those players is a joke .  I don’t hold much respect for anything Bellamy’s done in the game . Even his so called miricale Work with journeyman and turning them into good players , I’d like to see him do it in a bum team .  Something tells me that if Bellamy had say Brian Norrie at Parramatta things would be slightly different .

But yea , you’re 100% correct , it’s a smart move him getting out of Melbourne when he’s about to lose his key players . It’s a shame because I was looking forward to seeing what he can do when he has to start from scratch .

    • Bellamy has reigned from 2003 to 2018. Cheating aside they have not had one negative season in that entire time. That is 16 years of winning football. The only other coach with a similar record is Wayne Bennett.

They DID lose Inglis, who went on to win a title as Souths. They have consistently shed players to keep the spine together. And anyway they finally did lose Cronk, so your argument is flawed.

      • Not one negative season? Explain 2007 and 2009 to me.
