Why are we not going for Olam??

I think this guy is a machine. Storm want him gone and now the Tigers looks like they'll get him.

Has he really been that poor? I think he is a beast and would be a gun signing for any team

    • Parra's recruitment are on island mode. Plenty of average forwards to trade for Olam but thinks there's nothing wrong with our outside backs. Now they're letting Dragons and Dogs fight out for Connor Tracey...

  • He would be perfect to fill the gap for a couple of years until our juniors are actually ready for 1st grade.

He would be a massive improvement on Simonsson.

  • Did he play for Rouse Hill Rhinos ?

  • If Bellamy has given up on him that's enough for me, plus they want forwards in return, nobody is worthwhile giving for him, only ones we would Melbourne wouldn't want.

Blaize Talagi is the future at Centre for us from 2025, reckon we are looking at him, he is training at left centre for 2nd team atm.

    • So if Talagi is the chosen one from 2025 onward do we just write off 2024?

Olam is a premiership winner and we need winners to come in and help the juniors.

We were in a similar position when we brought in a proven winner in Fergo and he was massive for us.

Why not bring in Olam for next year. He will provide more than Simonsson does.

A Sivo/Olam pairing is far better than a Sivo/Simonsson pairing.

      • There's just zero common sense from the club defenders on here BEM.

They just defend until they are out of breath, out of excuses or just out of time.

      • Isn't it amazing what an actual winner can bring , that's why some top shelf recruiting is so important .look what Reynolds did to the Brisbane culture.

We have guys that have no idea what winning culture feels like. Penrith have a lucky purple patch of players , modeling ourselves off that is pointless unless you have the same talent coming though. We had similar when Hayne , Inu , Mateo etc came along.

Fergo was an old winger and he brought so much more to our team.

      • You can still win with Simonsson at Centre and move Talagi in 2025, why lose a kid for an ageing Olam whose defence is woeful?

        • How do we lose Talagi if we bring Olam in for a year or 2 especially as he is being touted as a 1st grade player from 2025 on.

Just because he goes good in reserve grade doesn't mean he will kick on in 1st grade. Several of our players have proven that.

Olam is a tried and tested player who knows what winning is like.

We won't win Jack shit with guys like Simonsson starting.
