Who will be the alpha half?

Moses is likely to be here soon.

1. Who will lead - Norman or Moses? There has to be just one leader and both want it. In my experience it will be very bad to put the new guy as leader for at least 6 months. He cannot be leader before the team knows him and he has earned their respect. It will just cause bad blood. I think this happened with Foran. Norman is also senior.

2. How will the Norman - Moses combination go? Some Tigers supporters are saying now (sour grapes?) that Brooks - Moses did not work because they both wanted to lead. They both play better without the other. Will we get the same problem with both Norman and Moses wanting to run the show? If true this needs to be got on top of at the start.

3. Will we now have a more standard left - right half structure? Will this be needed to manage 2.

  • Good blog. I'm very keen to see how our structure changes when Moses gets here. Hopefully I don't have to wait until next year. I suspect we will very much play them left-right, with them linking often on a long open side. This will let both take turns running the ball in some space.

And for the first couple of years at least, Norman will retain the right to overcall Moses.
    • Sounds sensible but I got the impression that the deal was Moses walks into the dominant half role
  • i actually think norman is not that fussed and would like moses to take control of the show so he can run the ball more

    • Norman doesnt care about anything except playing

  • We dont have to worry about that till next year any way tiger not going to release him and he doesn't wont one i think it was all talk
  • Norman will continue to be dominant half and Moses will run the ball when he sees fit - as he does.
The combination will be fine. Both players will take their opportunities as they present themselves.
We will see them take either side in defense and attack but float and come together to combine as they like?
  • Norman 6 running 5/8 with good kicking game.

Moses 7 Organising kicking half back with a good running game.
  • I think Moses would have been told that he will be dominant half at Eels as part of the selling of the deal. Norman is a bit hit and miss as an organiser some games he does a decent job but others he goes missing. He is better playing a bit ad lib.
  • I really like the look of Mitch Moses. If you watch his highlights you see his passing and running is fantastic, and can also kick as well if needed to take pressure off norman. Moses will direct the play and Norman will play what is in front of him
