Who will be our wingers in Round 1? Sunday 11th March - Eels Vs Panthers - Eels Blogs

Well, from what I can gather from various reports and what my people have been telling me, it appears Jenko will be left centre and the Plane at right centre.

Frenchy fills the fullback role. However, considering how the Fresh Prince of Belair has performed exceptionally with a short stint a NIDA, could he be the dark horse that fills the fullback position and Frenchy goes to the wing on temporary assignment. Just a thought.

So there are few players in the mix for wing positions and far as I can see these are the players in contention:

Kirisome Auva'a
Josh Hoffman
George Jennings
Nathan Davis.

I would definitely pencil in Auva'a at one wing. He is strong, does bust tackles and has some pace. He has been caught defensively on the wing before but this correction could be adjusted quite easily I think.

The second wing position would naturally go to Josh Hoffman considering he a specialist. However, what could Jenko's little bro bring the table? Does he deserve a shot, has got the pace and has got the skills of a first-grade winger?

Let the speculation begin.

It could be Davis. I don't know that Hoffman is a regular first grader to be honest. Agree on Auva'a.

If French Prince could play fullback i see no reason he couldnt play wing. Yes hes small, but hes fit, functionally very strong, fast(as per long range try in finals last year), excellent front on defender and quick between the ears. We need our best 17 named and this is a way to get one of our best 17 out there.

If Kirisome is there we will be in trouble. He is not just bad defensive reads but he has no clue when the ball goes high.. does everyone remember Phil’s very own VAI TOUTAI.. well this clown is of the same stature! BUT I’ll get shot down by everyone because the old argument is he can carry the ball back strong lol you may as well have penny there
