Who wants the job, Sterlo or Hindy ?

In the Sydney Telegraph Buzz Rothfield asks:“Which rugby league media personality has applied for the football general manager’s job at the Parramatta Eels to run junior pathways, high performance player welfare and the salary cap among others. One hint, he used to play a bit of first grade.”I’m tipping it’s Hindy, just got into the Parra Hall of Fame, always had a blue and gold heart, tired of the lack of Premierships that he gets reminded of more than anyone .. Sterlo has never showed any signs of wanting to do it and there seems now reason that he changed.Anyone got any other ideas ?

  • “A bit of 1st grade” couldn’t be Hindy
  • They're saying it's Graham Hughes (refer other blog).

    It's Paul Kent I reckon :)

  • Hindy? lol hasn't got the brains for it.

My guess would be Mick Ennis, Brett Kimmorely or Mark Gasnier.

  • I don't think it would be Hindmarsh, like HKF said he doesn't have those kinds of brains for that type of job. I don't think it would be Sterling, I think he has been smart to stay out of the club since he retired, Cronin, Price, and a few ex players have tried to get involved and have gotten burned.
  • A bit of first grade says to me it was a fringe player, not a Hindy, Sterlo or Ennis etc.

Someone not in the media too often.

    Hoped it was Gasnier.

  • As Kram has pointed out it more than likely is Graham Hughes.

  • It’s Graham Hughes
  • I agree with your analysis, Hindmarsh would be great for the job, a fantastic clubman and although I have never met him, seems a very good bloke. He knows the game, knows the Club and is a blue/gold through and through. We need more Hindys from the past involved, not these bloody silvertails and so called intellectuals who have no knowledge of what it is to be a football player/fan. Sterlo has a successful tv career, so why would he walk into the slaughter house, albeit we could sure use his astuteness.

The Club is in a very poor state, the current and previous boards have spent money buying players that more often than not, are at the end of their careers or have behavioural problems or just don't perform.

I have been a Parramatta fan 60 years and have tried to walk away and maybe follow another team, but I just can't - I am an Eels fan and it is frustrating to watch an appalling performance like last night, week in and week out. The defense was non existent, the lack of diversity in attack also non existent. If that is the best that Arthur can come up with, then it is time he went on his way.

I see half the forward pack should be sent packing, several of the backs and the coach should be shown the front door. If we are going to get flogged again next year, so be it, lets get some promising juniors from the vast teams playing in the Parramatta umbrella. If we are going to buy more players, just look for quality not quantity and work with the juniors. That is where Hindy will be invaluable, he knows a good player when he sees one!
  • Did not read any replies to your post until I had finished my reply. As I said I have never met Hindmarsh but I am not totally in agreement that he would not handle the job. You don''t get to be such a great player if you do not have something between the ears.

Graeme Hughes, not for me, I think we should still be looking for the available candidates who played for Parramatta.
    • Fuck who they played for. Just get the BEST available.

"Big motor for a big bloke. It's the same with Tuivaiti, they both seem to keep coming with the ability to play big minutes. They'd both have to be 115kg plus. Not sure who the conditioning coach is but he's doing a good job on these young blokes."
