Finally I agree with Paul Kent, he blames the Storm for the wrestling in the game. Buzz says all teams do it. Paul says they do to a point but the Storm do it & perfected it, and now all teams do it to try & keep up with the Storm. So at the end of the game the Storm now use pressure points, the Raidets to it to them & came out on top. Parra need to be mindful of that, their are ways to beat the Storm & the Roosters, commitment, discipline & 80min performance will take you a long way.

The Storm most definitely started it. And fair enough to them. This is NRL, the very top echelon of our sport. Like NFL or EPL Head Coaches must extract every possible advantage to get the win. A deliberate strategy of legally slowing down and controlling the ruck was an area that no one had focused on until Bellamy. It was actually genius.
But they definitely lost their way. The wrestle evolved from being good technique to control a tackle and slow down a play the ball, into tactics designed to cause pain and submission. And every time the refs caught onto what they were doing they evolved new techniques and still do.
The Storm are the reason the NRL have two referees. They’ve changed the game forever. I don’t mind about that, but I do mind about the deliberate stuff designed purely to cause harm and consequently cause submission. The refs should blow a thousand penalties if they need and/ or start putting blokes in the bin for extended periods. Enough is enough.
The NRL started the wrestle when they tried to take away the defences opportunity to compete for possession.
Until they stop the 3rd man in, it'll continue. And, I'm not sure how you can stop a 3rd man coming in on the tryline or wrapping up the ball.
Maybe we could go back to a union style ruck. What I'd give to see Cam Smith cleaned out by a 120kg monster.
