The future of Latrell Mitchell remains clouded with the Sydney Roosters officially withdrawing their contract offer to the star centre.
Mitchell has been linked with a move to Canterbury and has reportedly been meeting with members of the Bulldogs’ staff recently.
Interest from the Bulldogs first became apparent when a third-party approached Mitchell’s family on behalf of the club during this year’s State of Origin series.
The Roosters released a statement late on Tuesday afternoon to confirm they had withdrawn the club’s offer to Mitchell following discussions.

The Sydney Roosters have today advised the management of Latrell Mitchell that the Club’s offer for 2021 and beyond has been withdrawn following discussions with Latrell today.
Latrell has expressed that he would like to explore his options for season 2021, however he remains under contract with the Roosters for season 2020.

More like a VW beetle...
Isn't he related to the famous javelin thrower Lamar Latrell?
Absolute load of garbage, the story that had us offering him 11 mil over 10 years. Someone seems to have just made that one up entirely. Can't trust him to be playing well in 10 weeks let alone 10 years. Can be absolutely brilliant, but is often lazy and moody. Doesn't play well when things go wrong in a game. In another team that aren't as powerful as the Roosters, I think he'll struggle.
lamborghini lol ???? more like a VN commodore
He's now got the best mouth piece on his side with the king of mouths in A Mundine, tellin LM to go for the money. Reallly sound advice for Mitchell also his demands are getting worse when he told the dogs (according to the news media) he demanded the full back spot.
I would think the advice he's getting and his actions has caused a big drop in what he he will be offered, likely in the $600's, with contract clauses in the clubs favour based on performances and attitudes.
Agreed Col. To me it shows his lack of maturity in having management issues and now Mundine in his ear. he is a young guy and needs someone good around him but it seems he's made some big calls on things. He would be better off at easts imo
Mitchy, this is something that I don't especially like saying but will anyway. Some of the presses on him point him to the Knights, owing to it being closer to his home town of Taree, being of indigenous background and from what I saw in Taree of a large number of the indigious kids up there, being too close to there could have a negative effect on him. In saying that, I knew several families from there who were top people and believe there are many more but there is also an inherent degree of problems with the community at Purfleet.
Most Taree locals avoid driving through there since the bypass was finished, owing to rocks being thrown at cars, the servo out there and a couple of businesses also have shut up as well. Given Latrell's thinking and his head space and what advice he's getting I would see moving to the Knights being not good for him and that club going forward.
With his attituade towards the chooks at the point that they could work out a way for him to leave owing to what he's doing, i wonder if they would sign him even on a reduced amount, he is also reported to be in conflict with his agent the second one this year. I reallly wonder what 2020 has for him the way things sit ATM.
Some years back Tony Mundine was interviewed when he came back to Australlia after boxing match overseas, in an interview with one of the daily papers he was asked what his favourite pass time was and what he did between the boxing matches and training. His reply was very much a display of Aboriginal culture and part of their very lifestyle that all have but depends on how they handle it. The reply went along the following words, and what I remember of the full page and photo of him in it.
I love nothing more than when I am not in training, preparing for a match and a boxing match is to head up home to Kempsey where I come from, kick off my shoes and clothing (in part) and go walkabout for time, I get back to the dreaming and nothing else matters.
I could certainly relate to what he said, as it got him away from the media, which was also mentioned in the article, the pressures of a high profie was another he mentioned, my gut feeling that even at his young age, Latrell could be looking in that area, bearing in mind that as an NRL player once training and playing starts there is little time away from the game, and that has added pressure.
Yes Col. i can totally see that and i guess thats why it is important for him to have good people around in order to get sound advice.
I want..I rate him better than Gutho. LM actually played origin. I think if gets a coach like Brad he may shine...
Colin I would be surprised if he went to the Knights. Firstly they have little space left in the cap and Ponga at FB.
The Cowboys are after him but prefer Holmes. The Dogs want him but have no money left for 2020 and besides they already have DWZ on a newly signed contract
I think that the Tigers are the dark horse. They have plenty of money and no FB.
However I am with Mitchy. He would be better off staying at the Roosters. Good coach good mentoring (Politis, Bouris and Cronk) and a quality club. He has split with his manager, split with his family and now taking advice from Mundine.
I understand his father wanted him to stay at the Roosters
