WHO REALLY IS THE GUN TEAM IN THE NRL

We are at the half way mark, we all know what is happening with our team and what we need to do to get in the top 4. But which team is really the yardstick for all teams . My take on this is :

St George - consistant , they know how to grind out wins, but unless they secure Gasnier I believe they still lack a go to player in those big matches.  Defence is top notch. The YARDSTICK.

Panthers -  Not convinced. They will fade and very quickly. Leak too many points for me. Potent attack but can't defend points.

Titans -  workman team gets the business done - but again lacking the mongrel to get a big win at a critical time, particularly away from home.

Souths -   They do not have the halves to make it. Great forward pack, poor option takers and poor kicking game will bring them undone again.

Broncos - Building nicely - I am worried about them now as they are half way through origin and looking nice.  Huge win today.  BIG THREAT

Eagles -  Halves again - missing Stewart at the back.  Limping into finals and one of the first out in my opinion.

Tigers - I rate them but they need to keep their players on deck. They dont have the depth to challenge come semi final time. very fit football team

...........................................................................................................................................

Canberra - No only at home in cold winter nights

Roosters - Missing leaders

Knights - No

Cowboys - going terrible

Dogs - Going worse.

Storm - still a great team glad they are not able to compete.

What do you guys think......

  • has to be the dragons- they are the only team that turns up every week.. so hard picking teams as you dunno who turns up, 1 week a team has a good win the next get smashed.
  • Parra!!!!!!
  • Dragons by a mile for sure... but I am pretty sure Roosters weer leading the comp this time 2 years ago..... things can change quickly.

John Loang said 3 weeks ago Sandow would be the best 7 in the game in 2 years... well he looks anything but today according to Gus's commentary.

Others had Sutton as their 6 in SOO and again he was singled out by Gus.
  • after todays performance.....broncos...didn't miss origin stars....their back up stock of quality players is a worry to other top clubs.....they just seem to find new hunts & folaus....
  • What I am trying to say is that this YEAR is the most open I can remember. Starting peaking in round 20 - hold your game & nerve together, keep a fit 20 odd players together and we can win this thing. Have to finish in top 4 IMO to be a serious threat.

Melbourne will destroy the hopes of plenty of teams between now and round 26....... Watch those Bronco's......
  • broncos will fade, they have to many young stars that are inexperienced and will choke towards the end,
  • Arsenal.....they're a gun team.
  • The only gun team was the Storm.

If Parra come finals time can repeat last year they will win the comp, but if not -

I'm thinking Panthers are a big chance.
  • Dragons knowing now they gonna have gasnier, thought theyd just do the same as last year and choke at the buisness end of season but Gas is a big game player and he mite just be the difference for them at that time of year
  • If Dragons DONT win this years premiership then they are the biggest chokers of all time, as they are far and away the strongest team in the comp this year.
