Waqa and Fergo's response: "OK, so long as tackling someone, not necessarily the right someone, is all there is to it, we are awesome tacklers of random players!"
No one is going to be sacked in the sort of reactive manner you're suggesting Eel for Life. Nor should they. We are a professional football club, with systems, processes and structures that mean decisions get made in an informed manner, based on evidence.
Turfing a coach and their entire support staff mid-season is the sort of thing that would have characterised the Parramatta Eels 10 years ago. Those days are behind us.
Like you, my support for BA, and the systems and processes he has implemented in the football club has wained. I have lost faith. Faith that can be re-won. The ball is in his court and he has the rest of the year to show that he belongs in the company of coaches who can arrest a slide before it turns into a death spiral. If he cannot do that, then that is precisely the sort of evidence the board needs to initiate his exit.
In fact, if BA chooses to move on Kidwell now then that will be the actions of a man clutching at straws. If BA did not anticipate that the same issues that plagued us in 2020, would not resurface in 2021, and that the support staff he has around him couldn't materially improve those issues then that horse has bolted. BA chose to pick and stick with his players and support staff. That is the hill he will either live or die on.
If the worst-case scenario does play out and our attacking and defensive issues do not improve, and if anything, compound to a point where we fail to make another preliminary final then what the club does from this point onwards is critical to ensuring we attract the sort of talent t we need in order to make a run for 2022/23.
The likes of Bellamy will want to go to a club that treats people respectfully and professionally. This specifically means affording BA the sort of respect he deserves, as we exit him in a dignified way.
LOL .....GS has always been a top poster.....should do more of it.GS....mind you I think I opened the way with my decisive opening questions, taking into account the age of the correspondent and all.
PS I always feel intimidated when Shawn comes in behind me, one minute I think I am opening the batting and then I realise I'm playing with the tail! LOL

This is a topic i have been dreading for years and been saying the issues for years. I need to write this down as the ideas presented recently are concerning for the NRL moving forward. To summarise, the NRL are looking at, once 20 teams are in, of…
"Its 14 less. Have they go with the same amount of rounds with more teams its 50 more games.
Are you going to pay more money as a tv station or streamer for almost the same amount and less weeks overall of TV content?
The TV stations will say we get…"

Ok Eel for life
If we sack the defensive coach, who will do the sacking and who do you think the defensive coach works for?
You imply he has learnt nothing from last year! If that is the case do we sack him or the person he works for?
Your call!.....how would you manage it, if you were in charge?
It all went downhill when Scotty dregs was named site moderator on here
Even with the last 2 weeks scorelines we're still the 4th best defensive team in the NRL. Knee jerk reactions don't tend to end well in the NRL.
If BA isn't going to be sacked
Then you need to change the people around him.
Murphy and kidwell have been there along time. It's time to have new voices and a transition plan for the future
Agree 100%

Galactic Soup, you make a fair and logical argument.
You do not belong and have no place on oneeyedeel.

This is a very articulate, thoughtful and patient response considering the person you're replying to appears to be under the age of 10.
