Who is your pick as the greatest player to wear an eels jersey? My background is I am old school following my late father who was also a staunch eels supporter . I have been privileged to watch live all eels grand final wins ( and losses ) .My first choice as best player is Jarryd Hayne , second choice Jamie Lyon , and third choice Ray Price .

Thornett closely followed by Price and Sterling As the greatest to wear the Blue and Gold. Not far behind Cronin and Brett Kenny. As For Jamie Lyon no way, not even close. Jarryd Hayne had the skills to be the greatest but lets himself down.
Yes Sluggy and Poppa I heard so much praise from my father about Ken and brother Dick playing for Parra however I cannot recall watching either brothers play as we rarely went to games back then . I relied on tv footy which from 1960's was limited to Saturday afternoon ABC as far as I can remember . I bet Parra rarely had a TV game back then ,
Our " excitement " came from listening to Frank Hyde call a game on radio ?2KY on weekends when you listened to the update scores from around the grounds . You found out how the other teams including Parra by reading Monday's newspapers bought by every household in Australia.
