Team will be better defensively this way.
French scored all those tries on the wing last year & doesn't hav the body size yet to defend front on as is required at fullback.
Hoffman has played 5/8 before & is a strong defender.
Gutho is playing too good as fullback at the moment, his reads & no nonsense playing style & running game is putting teammates into holes & causing the opposition headaches.
Yes I think it will be back to square one. BA does not like to change the team too much. It raises questions on what role Smith and Avua'a have been contracted to play. It seems they are purely cover for first choice players.
If he's fully fit, French will slot into fullback. He trained the entire pre-season there.
Hoffman will remain on the wing. I agree he hasn't set the world on fire but he's been pretty safe and solid in defence.
