Who do we want to avoid first week of finals?

The way I see it, Parra are most likely to finish the regular season in 5th or 6th position.

It's conceivable we could push for a top 4 spot, but I don't consider it likely.

Likewise, we could fall down the ladder to 7th, 8th or worse.  However, that's not likely either.

If I'm right,  we will get a home semi in the first week against likely opponents Panthers, Sharks, Tigers, Broncos or even the Knights.

For mine,  I would hate to face the Sharks in the first week. The way the played against the Bunnies last week was very impressive and their roster is full of strike. I think we can handle the others at home, however,  I would be wary of a full strength Panthers and Knights too.

The reverse of that is I would prefer face the Tigers or Broncos...

  • Panthers or tigers would be a good draw. I’d like our chances at home.

  • What is the Finals Series system? Who gets the home ground advantages.

    • 5th and 6th get home ground advantage.

    • 1v4 and 2v3. Winners get week off, losers play winners of:

      5v8 and 6v7. Losers out

Second round winners play teams with the week off in round 3. Winners of those games to GF.

  • Sharks at full strength would be (bottom 4 team of the top 8) who you would want to avoid.  On our day and at Bankwest, we could beat the rest.

How hard would it be to win a GF in 2019. We would need to beat in no particular order, Cronulla, Manly or Canberra, Roosters and Storm.

Reality is we are a couple of years, 3 Representative players and possibly a coach away from that.

  • Manly would be the team i would fear the most, the others have been too hit and miss. the Knights would be a worry based on the fact they have won 11 from our last 13 but if manage to beat them this week at Bankwest that would give me confidence we could do it again.

  • Sharks are who we’re likely to play and that’s bad luck because they’re a hungry team and super dangerous on their day

  • Sharks or Knights two teams who we strugge against.

  • Dont wont to play South Roosters Melbourne Canberra

  • If we turn up on the day with crucial players fit and play a hard 80 minutes we can beat any team including current top 4 . We can beat a few of those lower ladder teams with luck playing less than 80 minutes like we have done already this year .
