At the end of the 2007 season, his first stint at Parra, Timana Tahu was at the peak of his powers. When he left League and went to Union he was one of the best centres in the NRL. Unfortunately when he returned to the Eels in 2010 he was a very different player, I'd say about a quarter of what he was when he left.
Yeah I remember he was absolutely smashing guys in defence coming out of the line at left centre that season, he was like a missile, and I don't reckon he ever missed one he attempted.
He was just that full package centre. Big, strong, fast, great footwork and a very good defender. Union ruined him. He had hamstring and knee problems and never looked the same when he returned. He finished his career as a back-rower, which given his talent, he never should have. Stephen Kearney was the reason he left Parramatta. Tahu requested an extended break following the 2010 season for personal reasons and SK denied it. Tahu then left for Penrith.
If we were able to keep that 2001 team together for a couple more seasons there is no doubt we would have won a premiership. It still hurts to see photos of bobcat in a Canterbury jersey.
Trials always present the double edged sword of fans getting excited that footy is finally returning, while trying to hold back on any bold predictions given the chopping and changing that occurs at this time of year.

Happy Monday, if anyone wants a good laugh to start their week, skip to 32:50 mark and listen to this f***wit talk. It is laughable seriously. Claiming the offer of $300k was a great deal and we can put that into our junior system. But said we can…
"Mannah-Brow, great to see you.
Good question. I'm not sure. Has a mental health assessment been made or is V'landy's offering a strong personal opinion?
On 24 December 2025, Storm and Lomax reached a non-binding agreement for 2026. But the exact…"
