Let me make it clear the intention of this blog is not to criticise BA but to suggest some options as suitable replacements. I actually like BA and am grateful for what he's done for the club over the last 10 years, but I personally think he's reached his ceiling even though he got us to the big dance last year. It's time for a new direction.
So if the club is to look for a new coach, is there someone out there who is a better option than the one we have at the moment?
I would think that Belamy and Bennett are the top 2 coaches currently and in that order (in my opinion). But we have no chance of signing any of them. You also have Robinson and Cleary - they both won a couple of premierships but they're more blessed with player talent than coaching ability. Then there are rookie coaches who haven't yet proven themselves in the NRL, over a period of time, such as Fitzgibbon, Payten, Demetriou, Ciraldo, Webster.
Current assistant coach Trent Barrett may be waiting on the sideline for an opportunity, but he got the sack twice now over short stints at each club.
There a number of ex NRL coaches sitting on the sidelines waiting for the next gig. Some might suggest Flanagan but it looks like he's persona non grata as a head NRL coach due to his recent history. Hasler, wants too much control of a club which he won't get anywhere and is too old. Macguire, a strict disciplinarian but very similar to BA and may not be much of an improvement. Morris, ex Parra player but I don't rate him and not sure whether he's the answer.
So who is a better option than BA at the moment, is available and can deliver us a premiership?

Been done to death. You'd have to replace management before super coach leaves. They love him.
I'm surprised John Morris isn't at the club.
Yeah , he did do all the ground work for Fitzy after all. Fitzy is good in his own rights , but Morris did all the heavy lifting over there and Fitzy got handed a team on the cusp of success with the addition of two fantastic players from Melbourne. .
He was doing better than Trent Barrett as a head coach, Barrett has brought his form to Parramatta with him.
I'll just say that if Trent Barrett ever becomes our head coach I will box up all of my gear , take it to the club and set fire to it in the front of the club and film it and post it on here . That's a promise, I won't make a song and dance like those speds that protest outside the club , just turn up , throw some lighter fluid on the box , light it , then probably go inside and take a piss after a long drive , maybe have a bite to eat , then leave .
Screen shot this for the sites records.
Yep he's shit as....
Barrett may get a shot if BA is ever unable to perform his duties for a period of time (injury, illness, family stuff etc) but he's got a very hard path back to a head coaching role given he's tried and failed there twice already. I can't see any club taking a punt on him long term, us included.
Think there's a few who will follow mate, maybe we can all book a table and have a last hurrah!
lol Mate Im right there with you with my kit to burn aswell if T Barrett gets the head gig in 2025. It will then knock the last dregs of Unicorn out my system for good and confirm what a dud team I have suffered to support. In saying that who else is out there of quality that can coach and attract top tier talent.......man we just have to get this 37 year monkey off our back......and soon. Im getting to the point where at least the tigers won in 2005....their supporters are suffering now but they have that...
Anyone literally wouldn't give a toss at this point.
I think he off like stale bread and the club needs a new voice and perspective coming out of the sheds.
