Who beats the Storm in 2017

It really is very difficult to think that there is any other team likely to beat the Storm this season. The Roosters might be a chance but even the most rusted on Eels fans (me included) need to face facts.

  • The only way you get em is if you have a team with a few straight wins under their belt during origin and that team has to be unfortunate enough not to have lost any players to origin but still have some strike power. Hmmmm....... lol I know we're dreaming but we couldn't get a better scenario to play them really
  • Any team that makes the Grand Final can beat the Storm so long as the referees don't unjustly influence the game.
  • Time to reintroduce the Hopoate Senior
  • No doubt the team to beat but remember 2001. GF isn't played in july
  • It's the Storm's to lose.
Only the Roosters or the Sharks are capable of doing it if they play to their full potential.
But at the moment it is the Storm then daylight to second.
Broncos are overrated imo. Their 7 day turn arounds that they get all year is a massive advantage and probably gives them 4-6 wins they wouldn't normally get if they were forced to play the ad hoc schedule everyone else does. This definitely places the Broncos higher up the ladder than they deserve. Last night they were exposed.
With Thurston gone it's a 3 horse race between Storm, Roosters and Sharks.
  • Pops, you are so very well spot on in the summation. When the dogs took to us in the 2nd half there was no answers rather than revert to a more open style of play as per the first half to get the ball away from their defense we tried to match them physically, to which there was no real hope of doing, the second dogs try showed how dissarayed our forwards and middle defence was.

If we meet the Storm of last night and play as we did Thursday night, then they will put a point a minute on us.

    • BEM, that must be good stuff you are on, would advise a bit of caution in the frequency in consuming it, also the amount.

    • i agree with BEM

  • No one.

Scary thing is I think that they still have some improvement left in them.

No Mclean at the moment, its origin time so their stars would be tired and Im not sure Asofa Solomona realises how great he can be yet. Their wingers are amazing, speed to burn and great finishers. Slater has wound back the clock and Munster is growing in confidence every game.

For me its the Storms to lose and barring injuries I think they can win in a canter.

  • that is the same animal I see every time I watch the eels play
