Which Team Will Coach Select?

I'm hoping that Brad Arthur will choose the following:

  • Gutherson
  • Blake
  • Opacic
  • Penisini
  • Sivo
  • Brown
  • Moses
  • Mahoney
  • RCG
  • Lane
  • Niukore
  • Papali
  • Paulo
  • Matterson
  • Cartwright
  • Kaufusi
  • Brown / Rodwell/ Ogden

I think however he will put Jake on the bench in place of another forward.

  • 🤨

  • He will have 4 forwards on the bench I recon

    • Hope so against a big Storm team. Can only see Bellamy picking the best side and doing everything outside the rule book to win

  • I'd have a bench of:

    11. Lane

    12. Papa

    13. Niukore

    14. Carty

    15. Brown

    16. Kaufusi

    17. Niukore

      • Bahahaha I just noticed that Matterson is meant to be at 13

  • I'd say Carty is back this week. JA back to the NSW cup

  • Make no mistake about it, Bellemy will see this as a must win game. He knows better than anyone the need to be in the top 4 come finals.

I badly want to win. But more than winning, I hope our most important players finish the game without injury. When Moses got bent over his ankle last week and was cluching at his lower leg, my heart just sank.

In saying that, I'm strongly against resting players for this rnd. We need to re-announce ourselves as a premiership threat. We lost that tag when we got pumped by Bronx and Bunnies.

I also genuinely believe that whoever plays Penrith in week 1 won't get a better opportunity to upset them. Cleary won't have played in 5 weeks. Yes, that will have freshened him mentally and physically, but a break like that also makes athletes rusty. It's inevitable.

    C'mon Eels!

I would personally go with what the majority think re bench - Matterson, Cartwright, Kaufusi and N Brown.

I think N Brown is key and would go as far as saying it could be the difference between breaking the drought and falling perilously short, again.  Our forward pack has never looked better, but the bench needs 1 more quality player to hold the middle and keep the dominance when our big boys have a spell. Makatoa just does not cut it.

    • Also on Cleary he will be mindful of his tackle on Dylan and that might cause him some doubts in defence, like a player coming back from injury, you probably a bit hesitant and second guessing so I would definitely target him

  • Yeah if there is a change it will be Cartwright for JA, as it should be.
