Sivo was just hit with a crusher which applies alot of pressure on the neck. Now let's compare that to the Burgess eye gouge.
Yes Burgess is a repeat offender and yes it is extremely dumb, however it is is more of a distractionary tactic.
These continued wrestling tactics and crusher style outcomes are far worse than the injury potential of a eye rub
I am not saying for one moment that Burgess should get off, he should have a long break, but when will the game take action against those that choose to attack the upper body and place extreme pressure on the neck...
If burgess gets 6-8, then a crusher should be the same

Funniest thing was the commentators wouldn't stop going on about terepo on rapana and how he should have been sent off but not a word a bout a send off when it was sivo.
Agree Bug and with Burgess being a repeat offender get rid of him.
Understand the intention may not be a crusher as an outcome but if you go high and use your full body weight and drop to the ground it happens.
If you are doing double the speed limit and kill someone is your defense I don't mean that to happen....
I call BULLSHIT Bug.
The Crusher has become a "designer" tackle in the wrestle - all too often we see the tackler actually manouvering the player under his body then deliberately drop pressure on him.
Accidental my arse.
Make it a send off offence and watch the wrestling coaches come pu with something new real quick.
Then again the entire game is going to shit with the way tackles(??????????) are done these days and take forever to be called Held.
Agree many players play for a penalty.
I say don't give them the option
Tab
Tackle like Jurbo, job done
The potential injury from crusher is far worse, but it's hard to tell (sometimes) how intentional it is. An eye gouge is worse and should be 12 weeks minimum when it looks like the Burgess one.
