Many experts say the eels side of the 80's would have beaten the Rooster premiership sides of 74 & 75. I think even big Jack made that statement once himself. Ray Warren rated Parra's backline as the best ever !
For me the best side of the modern era was the Raiders of early 90s. Redefined attacking football. Unbelievable side Daley, Meninga, Stuart, Clyde, Lazarus, Belcher, Mullins and Walters.
2nd for me were the Broncos and then I think the Eels.
Parra's sides from 81-84 has to be top of the pops, Canberra's teams while great had question marks around the legality of the side. Bronco's don't count because they never ever abided by the cap. And IMO it should be a case of Storm who???

yep I have to agree Alan, IMO and Call it a "conspiracy theory"the Broncos,Raiders,Storm and the Knights wins were all set ups by the NRL.I reckon it was a ploy by the NRL to have those sides win the comps at all cost,to gain widespread attention and exposure of the game in their respective locations, therefore harnessing more support for the game, fortunately for the Broncos, raiders and the Knights, the fans of opposing clubs were not really scrutinising the way the game was run back then and the dirty money that went with it, the Storm were only fingered by the NRL because the fans had ultimately had gutfull of the farcical and blatant disregard for cheating and the NRL lack of enforcing and policing the cap!
I doubt anyone will ever know the real truth about any of the above clubs wins and the salary cap validation but I have suspicions that the NRL has a major hand in ensuring all those clubs succeeded for the good of the game!
"Exactly right we have enough versatility to adapt to circumstance.
I still see Jnr as the pack alpha though there are times during the game where it loosens up to much and he gets exposed.Ruck control is so important in the modern game more so now…"

The only team that won a threepeat ...EELS 81-83.
That is all!
Yes, that's the problem.
Apart from 86, that is all.
I think only Sterlo in the backline was not a Parra junior.
